[player_tooltip player_id='104082' first='Teagon' last='Kasperbauer'] left his mark on one of the more storied football programs in the entire state.

Kasperbauer led Harlan to a second consecutive Class 3A state title this past fall, and in doing so, positioned himself as an elite quarterback.

Listed below are the first, second and third team selections for the position, along with honorable mention players.

First Team - [player_tooltip player_id='104082' first='Teagon' last='Kasperbauer'] - Harlan - Senior

No list would be complete without this superstar at the top of it. [player_tooltip player_id='104082' first='Teagon' last='Kasperbauer'] showed incredible growth from one year to the next, culminating with his best yet as a senior. The Harlan standout threw for 2,664 yards with 40 touchdowns and just five interceptions, completing over 65 percent of his passes.

The thing about Kasperbauer, though, was he didn't have to throw it 40 times a game to make an impact. Each and every throw he made was a big one and almost always seemed to position the Cyclones in a better spot.

Second Team - Joey Rhomberg - Mount Vernon - Junior

With over 2,500 yards and 25 touchdowns, Mount Vernon's Joey Rhomberg enjoyed quite the junior campaign. He completed over 64 percent of his throws with just eight interceptions among his 350 attempts. He was one of only two in the classification to surpass 2,000 yards while leading the way in completions (225) and attempts (350).

Rhomberg was injured in a semifinal win over Humboldt and missed the state championship game with Harlan, which would have been a fun showdown. However, you can bet he will be geared up to make another run next fall.

Third Team - [player_tooltip player_id='152665' first='Mitchell' last='Johnson'] - Independence - Senior

A year after losing a star running back, Independence put the focus on quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='152665' first='Mitchell' last='Johnson']. Ane he delivered. Johnson was far from just a hand-it-off guy as a junior, but he progressed nicely during the offseason, completing 66 percent of his passes for over 1,800 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Johnson is definitely an elite-level athlete, having also ran for over 800 yards with 14 touchdowns, while making 62 stops on defense with 12.5 behind the line of scrimmage. That might be where his future is at the next level, and he will make for a real good one with strong instincts and quick reflexes.

Honorable Mention

Algona sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='252221' first='Alex' last='Manske'] recently received an offer to Wisconsin and has also made a visit to Tennessee. He completed his season with almost 1,700 yards passing and 14 touchdowns while also shining bright on defense. Adel-ADM's [player_tooltip player_id='320738' first='Aiden' last='Flora'] is another underclassmen standout, as the junior threw for 1,773 yards and 19 scores, while Fairfield's [player_tooltip player_id='152856' first='Tate' last='Allen'] had 22 passing TDs.
