The Tigers tried to put up a fight but Delsea’s Wing T offense proved to be too much as Delsea passed the ball a grand total of two times and pounded the rock on Eastside, unmercifully.
Highlights
Delsea rushed for 342 yards on the ground. 168 of those rushing yards came from Adair. Ripping off two runs of 50+ yards with four total touchdowns. Adair is a perfect fit in this offense because not only does he have speed but he can break tackles and sees running lanes well. Adair is a huge reason why Delsea is on to the championship game.
Schoppe does everything for this team from being a part of a potent rushing attack to making key tackles as a linebacker and there was no difference in this game. He rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown and aided in shutting down Camden Eastside’s running game with a number of defensive stops. Schoppe is Delsea’s best all-around player.
I wrote before the game that in order for Camden Eastside to have a chance Willy Love would have to have a huge performance to get this win. Even though, Love did more than his share it still wasn’t enough.
Love showed why he’s one of the best prospects in the entire state. Spoiling fans with the acrobatic catches over two players, contested catches, and some solid plays on defense.
I love to see players visibly frustrated when they’re losing or the team isn’t performing to the level that they’re capable of. It shows players’ care and willingness to be great and/or correct mistakes. Through his frustration, it was good to see him show leadership qualities and keep his team as motivated as he could.
Love came to perform in this game, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to compete with Delsea. Love has a plethora of Power 5 schools on his trail and it will be interesting to see how his recruitment goes as he enters his senior year
As I previously mentioned not much to come away with on the Camden Eastside end but I did come away impressed with Judah Anthony Judah Anthony 5'10" | 160 lbs | WR Woodrow Wilson | 2024 State NJ . Anthony is a slot player that knows how to get open; what stands out is his short-area quickness and burst. He ran mostly out routes and 9 routes in this game, but he knows what to do when the ball is in his hands and can break tackles.
Anthony currently has two offers reported from Ole Miss and LIU. With that speed, there will be sure that more colleges will be looking for his commitment.
One of the top defensive line recruits in the country and Florida commit Will Norman Will Norman 6'5" | 290 lbs | DL St. Frances | 2023 NJ looked anything but that in this contest. In a game where the opposing team passed a grand total of two times, this was my first time getting to watch him play in person, but you would like to see more of an impact on the game for a player that’s such a highly sought-after recruit.
As such, I was also expecting to see a little more composure from arguably the best player on the team. More uplifting teammates, but instead saw a lot of finger-pointing. In his defense, the Delsea defense did run right to him and tried to neutralize the impact he could make in run defense and he made that known on the sideline in a very demonstrative way. In the same respect, when you get all the national notoriety and you are a big high profile recruit it’s not inconceivable for your teammates to expect you to make a bigger impact than was made in that game.
Lastly, just looking at him you can see why recruiters and scouts drool over him. He’s every bit of 6’5 290lbs and is a very malleable prospect who could be molded into a dominant pass rusher.
