Throughout an eventful, and highly competitive playoff picture this season, plenty of talented teams have risen to the occasion, causing other top teams to fall as they dove deeper into the playoffs. So far, teams such as Westlake, Grayson, Buford, and North Gwinnett have all been eliminated, and the final 4 teams have been left standing to duke it out over the next few weeks to determine who is the top 7A team in the state this season. These remaining teams include the likes of Mill Creek, Milton, Colquitt County, and Carrollton.

Mill Creek

This past week, Mill Creek went on to continue to dominate their competition, just as they have all season. In the playoffs alone, Meadowcreek, North Cobb, and Westlake have all witnessed how talented they are on both sides of the ball. Recently, Westlake has been the latest victim, as they fell to Mill Creek, 38-14. In this game, both [player_tooltip player_id='327232' first='Hayden' last='Clark'], and [player_tooltip player_id='34015' first='Caleb' last='Downs'] passed for a TD, while Downs also rushed for a TD, and Cameron Robinson ran for 2 TD's. Defensively, the team also stepped up, totaling 28 tackles, 2 sacks, and 3 interceptions. As they enter into their 4th round match up against Milton, look for them to be firing on all cylinders, while largely leaning towards the strong defense they have.

Milton

Just like Mill Creek, Milton has had a high level of success so far this season, and their 10-3 record, with an overall 5-0 record in their region proves this. All season long, they have stuck it to their competition, but the majority of their playoff run has been a bit closer than they would probably like it to be. Every week except this past week that is. Against Grayson, which is arguably one of the more talented teams in the state, Milton won 35-12. In this game, offensively, they executed relatively well, as Nickel passed for 3 TD's, and Moskowitz rushed for a TD as well. Defensively, this is where the team shined. They made about 85 tackles, and sacked the opposing QB a total of 7 times, while also forcing 2 interceptions. Needless to say, regardless of how well Milton's offense played, it was impossible for them to outshine their defense. [player_tooltip player_id='137437' first='Debron' last='Gatling'], Will Parton, and Owen Phillips all put on a show, proving to everyone why their defense is something to be reckoned with.

Colquitt County

Almost quietly, Colquitt County has continued to perform at a high level throughout these playoffs, and they continued to prove that as they dominated a then 10-2 North Gwinnett team, 52-17. Offensively, all weapons were on full display as [player_tooltip player_id='325151' first='Neko' last='Fann'] passed for 352 yards, and 6 TD's. As a result of this, Ny;Quavion Carr finished the day with a total of 182 yards, and [player_tooltip player_id='220729' first='Landen' last='Thomas'] finished with 67 yards of receiving. By the end of the day, both of them had 2 TD's each, while their running game was also in full effect. A'Marius Pace, who scored once as well, rushed for 147 yards on 14 carries. Even with all of this offensive firepower, one cannot forget about their defense, as they finished with 50+ tackles, and 3 sacks.

Carrollton

This season, not only has Carrollton stepped up in plenty of ways, but they have positioned themselves well to face off against one of the top teams in the state in Colquitt County this upcoming weekend. So far, they have achieved a 13-0 record, with a 4-0 record in their region. In doing so, they have blown out plenty of teams, and have not allowed more than 28 points in a single game this season. Last week, against Walton, they did just the same, as they dominated them 52-27. In this game, [player_tooltip player_id='206164' first='Julian' last='Lewis'] threw for 4 TD's and 333 yards, while RB, [player_tooltip player_id='335441' first='Bryce' last='Hicks'], racked up 90 yards, and 3 TD's on the ground. Perhaps, some of the bigger performances of the day came from [player_tooltip player_id='335441' first='Bryce' last='Hicks'], who caught 2 TD's as well and an interception, [player_tooltip player_id='321435' first='Caleb' last='Odom'], who rushed for 120 yards on 5 carries, and Keshaun Johnson, who also caught an interception. If this is how Carrollton is looking going into the semifinal round next week, Colquitt County needs to watch out, as it may be a tougher game than they may be ready for.
