Throughout the month of October, we had an update to our prospect rankings. Three weeks ago, we released our first watch list for the 2026 class. The first rankings for that class will come out in January. Two weeks ago, it was all about the 2025 class. We’ve updated those rankings to feature the top 75 sophomores in the state. You can check out the full rankings RIGHT HERE. Last week, we took a look at some of the top juniors in Oklahoma with an update to the 2024 rankings. You can check out the full rankings RIGHT HERE. This week, we finish up the ranking breakdowns with a look at the 2023 rankings. You can check out the Top 200 Seniors RIGHT HERE.
In this post, we’re taking a look at some of the top newcomers to the latest ranking update. At this point, there aren’t too many 2023 prospects that we don’t already know about. But for these ten prospects, they are enjoying breakout seasons and have earned their way into the best of the best in the senior class. Stay tuned throughout the week for more 2023 prospect breakdowns.
One of the more underrated prospects in the state is Cascia Hall’s Baxter Robertson Baxter Robertson 5’11” | 180 lbs | WR Cascia Hall | 2023 State OK . After taking a look at the Cascia standout this summer, after our June ranking unfortunately, we were really impressed with him. He absolutely killed the camp season this spring and summer as he ran multiple blazing 40-yard dash times while on college campuses. This fall, he’s been a dynamic playmaker for Cascia Hall’s offense. Last year, he was more of a running back but this year, his biggest attribute has been as a playmaking wide receiver. And that’s what we envision Robertson being at the next level. A slot receiver who runs precise routes and has deceptive speed.

The first of two Union prospects to join the rankings during this last update is linebacker Bryce Ashlock Bryce Ashlock 6’0″ | LB Union | 2023 State OK . We’ve been told about Ashlock prior to this season but we wanted to see it in person. And he lives up to the hype. He’s a prototypical middle linebacker at the next level and he’s one of the vocal leaders of the Union defense, that has some serious talent at all three levels. Ashlock is incredibly productive and has a nose for the football. He’s at his best when he’s defending the run but he can also get after the quarterback, as well as drop back in pass coverage. The Redhawks fly all over the ball on defense and Ashlock is another example of that.
McAlester defensive back Chaz Bradley Chaz Bradley 5’10” | 185 lbs | DB McAlester | 2023 State OK has had quite the high school career but he has fit in perfectly with the Buffaloes this season. After spending his sophomore season at Yukon, he was at Mustang last year, then moved to McAlester for his senior season. There was a moment where we thought he was going back to Mustang but he’s been an impact player for the McAlester defense this fall. Playing alongside OU commit Erik McCarty Erik McCarty 6’2″ | 175 lbs | DB McAlester | 2023 State OK in the secondary, that has definitely opened things for Bradley to make quite a few plays this season. He’s one of the 5A leaders in interceptions this season and has had a very productive season so far.
The first of two Jenks defenders is senior linebacker Cooper Crissup Cooper Crissup 6’1″ | LB Jenks | 2023 State OK . After losing a few key parts of the front seven from last year’s state championship team, we expected Crissup to step into a new role as the leader of the Jenks defense. They’ve had a few players that have stood out in big ways, despite having to deal with injuries to key positions. When the Trojans were decimated with injuries in the first half of the season, Crissup was the one constant on the defensive side of the ball. He was one of the leading tacklers on last year’s team and he’s in that same position this season. Crissup adds even more depth to the already stacked 2023 linebacker class.
Rankings are anything but perfect. At the end of the day, they come down to opinions for the most part. And every time, there are prospects that slip through the cracks or we don’t get a name down and because of that, they miss a ranking update. That’s the case here with Plainview offensive lineman Garrett Keith Garrett Keith 6’4″ | 280 lbs | OL Plainview | 2023 State OK . He’s one of a few offensive linemen that we knew about but failed to get his name down and this is the first time he’s on the ranking. Keith has been a standout along the line of scrimmage and he’s also shined in camp settings during the offseason. He’s definitely an offensive lineman prospect to keep an eye on moving forward.

The second Union prospect on this breakdown is senior standout Grayson Tempest Grayson Tempest 5’11” | WR Union | 2023 State OK . At this time last season, Tempest was dealing with a season-ending injury after starting for the Redhawks at quarterback. Fast forward to now, and Tempest is Union’s leading wide receiver and a dynamic kick returner. Tempest moved to wide receiver this offseason and has been the go-to target for sophomore quarterback Shaker Reisig Shaker Reisig 6’0″ | 185 lbs | QB Union | 2025 State OK . And he also has gotten into the game as a quarterback this season when Reisig got some rest. Tempest has opened the eyes of several college coaches when it comes to being an overall athlete and specifically as a wide receiver.

The second Trojan defender that’s new to the rankings is defensive lineman Jack Standlee Jack Standlee 6’4″ | DL Jenks | 2023 State OK . We mentioned with Crissup how the Trojans have been bit by the injury bug and Standlee was one of them earlier this year. But he has been able to return and have an impact along the defensive line. Standlee has impressive size at 6’5 and he definitely looks the part coming off the edge. And the Trojans lost some big time playmakers along their defensive line. Most notably defensive end Coleman Thurber. Standlee is attempting to replace that production from a year ago and with his measurables and skills, we expect his recruitment to take off.
Norman North quarterback Kamden Sixkiller Kamden Sixkiller 6’4″ | QB Norman North | 2023 State OK should have been in our last update back in June. But we were holding off to see him prove it during the fall. After replacing New Mexico State signee Gavin Frakes as QB1 for the Timberwolves, Sixkiller has been one of the breakout stars of the 2022 season. Those around Sixkiller have expected this all year after an outstanding offseason and knowing what he would be bringing to the field. It’s not easy to be a quarterback and only have one year of starting experience at the high school level. But Sixkiller has made it look easy and the dual-threat quarterback should get plenty of looks over the next three months.
The third linebacker on this breakdown is Owasso’s Kunta Jordan Kunta Jordan 6’0″ | LB Owasso | 2023 State OK , adding yet another name to an already loaded linebacker position. Early on in the season, Jordan stood out immediately as he flew all over the ball. Similar to the other linebackers on this breakdown, it looks like Jordan translates more to a middle linebacker or inside backer in a 3-4 look. Jordan is a linebacker that will fly all over the field and makes as much of an impact in defending the pass as he does in the run game. We really like the combination of size and skill for Jordan and when we checked him out earlier this season, he was immediately a name to write down and add to this 2023 group.
Enid has a couple breakout stars on the offensive side of the ball as the Plainsmen are headed back to the playoffs this season. Leading the rushing attack has been senior running back Luke Rauh Luke Rauh 6’1″ | 205 lbs | RB Enid | 2023 State OK , who has been one of the more consistent running backs in 6A-1 this season. What’s been the most impressive part of Rauh’s game this fall has to be that consistency and production. The Enid standout has produced at a high level and hasn’t mattered who the opponent was. Enid’s offense has been balanced and very fun to watch when you look at the breakout seasons of Rauh and fellow senior Tykie Andrews Tykie Andrews 6’0″ | WR Enid | 2023 State OK at the wide receiver position.
