Kolb was the lead safety dero this year which led his team to Newfound success all throughout the season, and a big part of that is what cold brought out on the field. Bold was able to look all around the field this season in who’s seen every single performance that he did, but he was able to read where the ball was going and he clearly studied film to show this. He is an incredibly smart safety on the field and just made some great plays which made him an overall great player. That being here very few weaknesses in his game and was just an all-around great free safety that can move around the field with great speed and lay down some big hits pretty much all the time. He was great in the Run game he was great in the passing game he was a great leader to have the locker room, Sioux Falls Jefferson will be in not a good position by losing him but they will adapt and find a way to deal with that Cole Blends in with the top safety from the past year.
2. Beau Giblin Beau Giblin 6'0" | 185 lbs | DB Sioux Falls Jefferson | 2023 State – Sioux Falls Jefferson
Giblin with a part of the safety duo in Sioux Falls Jefferson was so dominant throughout the entire year and he was the strong safety that paired with his team’s free safety. more often than not use. Giblin around the area of the Box being able to lurk in and basically play as a middle linebacker with his skill set and a great amount of strength for he could lay down big heads and effectively be I uncovered option if it came to it. he was just such a great defender in everything he did as a safety mainly due to the versatility that he provided, this versatility allowed other players to get playing time on the field but is that the other safeties are even defensive backs that got more snaps and allowed for a great team style of play where everyone had an opportunity to succeed. Giblin succeeded in being a key tackler and someone that the secondary always relied on to make a big play which he did all year, claiming him as the second-best safety in South Dakota.
3. Cody Oswald Cody Oswald 6'3" | 185 lbs | DB Yankton | 2023 State – Yankton
Oswald is a great lurking safety who was able to make plays in the Deep Field and that is truly where he excelled. what Oswald had on the lake up compared to others was just how well he was able to stop the default from even thinking about formatting, if you saw him in the back and your wide receiver was near there was very little chance of that ball was going to end up receivers and its stead Oswald was either going to intercept it or knock it away. he was able to be a lock-down Defender all year and has very few holes in his game what is even more impressive is that as a college ready Prospect, with it he is one of the most effective players that would succeed in the college system due to his ability being something that any system can use, a safety who can intercept passes and not allow the big place to happen. as well of season 3 this season at the 3 spot to our list.
4. Deegan Houska Deegan Houska 5'10" | 170 lbs | DB Pierre | 2023 State – Pierre
Elsa is a mix of all safeties that is what you can think of, while he did not have one area of something that he was really good at it, he did have something out of town where he was pretty much good at everything he needed to. While he started and played games as a safety he was much more of a true defensive player and someone that just wanted to go out and stop the offense or be able to do anything, the best way to describe Annex as a defensive stop. being able to lurk around the field intercept passes lay down big kids in forced fumbles is something that you would want out of your defensive player and he did it all, but he did not really excel at one of those areas which while making him incredibly valuable to his team ranks him at the bottom of the list for safeties in South Dakota this past year.
