Continue ReadingWhile we are already very deep into the high school football season, it is also not over for the prospects out there who want to make a name for themselves, and finish as one of the top 5 rushers in the state of North Carolina this year. Nevertheless, the achievements of the players below have been nothing short of remarkable so far, and we wanted to take some time to dive into their numbers, and success going into the rest of the regular season. Take a peek at their film in accordance with their numbers to get an even more detailed story of their contributions.
Mason Avery- West Lincoln
After 8 games, Mason Avery has begun to take off on the competition throughout the state, as he has already put up a total of 1,866 yards for his team. In doing so, he averages around 233 yards a game, with 10 yards a carry. To add to this, within his 186 rushing attempts, he has had a long of 78 yards, and has scored 25 TD’s for his team. While this is impressive, his ability to sustain this throughout the season is even more impressive. Moving forward, we believe he will finish the season strong, as he has a good chance of wearing the NC Rushing crown when it is all said and done.

, who has had a great season in his own right, as he has totaled 1,751 yards through just 8 games. With this, he has scored 26 times for his team, proving that he can be a bellcow player, and that his contributions in yards, and by the way he runs the ball, are completely irreplaceable. With this, it can also be seen that Perris currently averages 9 yards a carry, and we expect this to continue to be high as the season winds down.
Keyshawn Breedlove- Central Davidson
Out of Central Davidson, Breedlove has continued to perform at a high level, as he currently holds a total of 1,724 yards, and an average of 215 yards per game. With this, Breedlove has also averaged around 16 yards a carry on 106 rushing attempts. Most impressively, he has proven to hold the ability of making the most of each touch, as he has been a huge part of his team’s success in the end zone as well. At this point of time, Breedlove has rushed for 26 TD’s, and has only fumbled the ball once this year.

– Jack Britt
Baines, who just made the 4th spot by a 10 yard margin, has done so with a total of 1,658 yards, and an average of 207 yards per game. To add to this, he also averages about 9 yards a carry, and has toted the rock 176 times this year with very successful results. In running the ball for his team, he has also had a season long of 84 yards on 1 carry, and has seen the end zone 19 times for his team. If that is not impressive, we don’t know what is. Going into the rest of the year, he will have to continue to produce at this rate, as other players on this list are beginning to impress, and add yards to their resume as well.
Bradley Brown- Lee County
Just 10 yards shy of Baines, Brown has had a silent, but successful year as well, as he has put up a total of 1,648 yards so far this year, and currently boasts an average of 206 yards per game, with an average of 8 yards per carry. To add to this, Brown has also rushed the ball 200 times, and has a total of 17 TD’s on the ground, to only 1 fumble in all of his 8 games. As the season closes out, we would like to see Brown finish strong, and be able to take care of the football more consistently.
