Sabino Sabercats

Sabino bounces back after last week's lost with a resounding win over Sequoia Pathway Acadamy, 73-40. Sabino's offense is one of, if not, the scariest offenses in the entire state. Averaging almost 50 points a game, they put up a lot of points very fast. Junior QB [player_tooltip player_id='169422' first='Cameron' last='Hackworth'] leading the charge, with 1951 yards so far this year, 26 TDs and only 3 INTs. He is also the second leading rusher with 368 yards on the ground. The wide receiver tag team of [player_tooltip player_id='217574' first='Savaughn' last='Berryhill'] and [player_tooltip player_id='368912' first='Shamar' last='Berryhill'] is a nightmare to any defense, with each player having over 600 yards and a combine 20 TDs. 6-1 on the year and undefeated at home, Sabino hopes to end the year just as strong.

Horizon Huskies

After a very difficult start to the year, the Huskies bounce back in a very impressive way, defeating Higley 15-12. Higley came in undefeated, with one of the top ranked QBs in the nation, and averaging over 40 points a game. Horizon's defense which was their strong suit last season, came to play and limited Higley to 12 total points. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='358600' first='Hudson' last='Muller'] led the way with 9 tackles, while [player_tooltip player_id='1003036' first='Alec' last='Eckholm'] was right behind with 8. With 4 total sacks, they gave Higley's QB [player_tooltip player_id='368904' first='Jamar' last='Malone'] a tough time in the pocket. Excited to see if Horizon can build on this win and carry it the rest of the way.

Liberty Lions

The Liberty Lions came in as the #1 team in the state to some, but after last week's performance, they are undoubtedly the best team in Arizona. Liberty gave Basha their first loss of the year, winning 35-7. If it wasn't for a fourth quarter touchdown, Liberty would have shut out one of the best offenses. [player_tooltip player_id='115509' first='Navi' last='Bruzon'] was clinical, going 17-20 for 248 yards and 3 TDs, while Keaton Stam and [player_tooltip player_id='358538' first='Anthony' last='Ruiz'] held the Bears in check, each with 10 tackles. With back to back wins over last year's state champs Saguaro and a top 5 school in Basha, Liberty showed everyone they mean business and deserve that top spot in the state.
