I am listing the players who’s stat line stood out, who people recommended but most importantly, ONLY players who either I watched live or was able to watch highlights from their specific game. For the best chance to be featured, send me your weekly film on twitter. My handle is “@DevinRecord”, please don’t have any hard feelings if you weren’t included.
The entire Yelm HS defense is extremely impressive. They all play together very well and play as a solid unit, one of the best in the state. Wright is a big part of what the Yelm defense does and he is one of the best at his position in the class. Against Capital HS, he contributed 7 tackles, 4 of those being for loss, 2 of them for sacks. He played dominantly all night, just as he’s been doing all season.

Brody Bouwman
Brody Bouwman
In the Lyncs biggest game of the season up to this point in week 6, they faced fellow top 5 1A team, Nooksack Valley HS. Brody stepped up the challenge, as did the rest of the defense only allowing 7 points. Brody had a game high 12 tackles on the night, getting involved quite often throughout the game.
This senior has been mentioned in this series of article before and deserves another mention. The team may not have gotten the win against Rainier Beach, but Collin was able to play well and contribute as he always does. He’s been showing people why he’s a top 10 ranked linebacker in the state of Washington within the 2023 class.
Here’s another player I’ve mentioned before in this series but continues to play well and earned another mention. He’s already a top 35 player in his class (2024) and I personally think he could be ranked even higher. He hits the holes hard and reads the ball carrier extremely well. Tuaoa is as quick as anyone in his class, being able to burst through the offensive line with ease.
**Matai attends Lakes HS**
Sarte has been having a fantastic senior year on the field. He’s a top 5 ranked linebacker in the 2023 class and for good reason. He cones off the edge in a blink of an eye, almost getting right to the running back as he was being handed the ball by the quarterback against Spanaway Lake HS. Matai reads the quarterback extremely well, always keeping his eyes on him. That helped him during his fumble recovery he took to the house for a touchdown.
