I am listing the players who’s stat line stood out, who people recommended but most importantly, ONLY players who either I watched live or was able to watch highlights from their specific game. For the best chance to be featured, send me your weekly film on twitter. My handle is “@DevinRecord”, please don’t have any hard feelings if you weren’t included.
Matthew Zhou
Matthew Zhou
Matthew did a little bit of everything for Lakeside (Seattle) week 5. He made his presence be known on defense in many different ways. He sacked the quarterback 2 times on the night and had a swatted pass. He wasn’t done making plays there, he also recovered a fumble for his team. He rushes the quarterback well, getting off the line extremely quick. He tackles well, being able to know the angles on the field to give him the advantage when approaching the ball carrier. He’s a name to watch for the rest of this year, and next.
Lucas Reynolds
Lucas Reynolds
Lucas has had a phenomenal senior year so far this year. He’s been mentioned before, and deserves to be mentioned again. Against Ferris HS, he was DOMINATING. He finished with 9 tackles, 5 of those being for loss. He also had 2 sacks on the night. He was flying all over the field making plays left and right. HE evades blocks well, being able to get by the offensive player attempting to block him easily. He uses his speed to quickly get into the backfield and get to the ball carrier. He’s absolutely relentless on the field. Always looking for contact.
Uriah Givens

I could go on and on about the plethora of talent that Garfield HS has. This time, I will feature linebacker Uriah Givens, class of 2023. He showed off his ability to feel out the offense and show off his down hill speed when going towards the ball carrier. In pass coverage, he stays withe the receiver nicely as he can stay with the offensive player easily. He reads the quarterback well too as he came up with an interception against Ballard HS.

Calvin plays on the other Lakeside HS team in the state, located in Nine Miles Falls, WA. Against Colfax HS, Calvin lined up in multiple places. He lined up at quarterback, where he took the ball for a long rushing touchdown. He also caught a couple passes lining up as a tight end. Defensively, he lined up at linebacker and played excellent. He hits HARD and gets to the ball carrier quite fast. His speed on the field helps him quickly get in the backfield to be involved in the action. Lakeside (Nine Miles Falls) is a team to watch going into the late stretch of the season, so I will be paying attention to Calvin closely.
Colton and this Nooksack Valley team has had a great start to the year. Lentz gets the job done on both sides of the ball, every week. This is why I listed him as an ATH, as he can line up in so many different places. Offensively as one of the main options, he gets a lot of touches as a running back. He had a 30 (ish) yard touchdown against Meridian. He’s patient on both sides of the ball and can wrap up effectively on the defensive side. He had the play of the week arguably, having a 99 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown. He’s someone to watch, as is this entire Nooksack Valley team, in the coming years. His future is extremely bright.
