Roderick McCrary – Creekside
One of the top overall athletes in the Atlanta regardless of class, it’s been a giant junior season for McCrary so far, and he’s been dominant on both sides of the ball all season long. The outstanding 2024 athlete had a big day running the football against Villa Rica over the weekend, carrying the ball just four times for 190 yards and three touchdowns. He was unstoppable with the ball in his hands, rushing for touchdown runs of 72 yards, 42 yards, and 61 yards, along with a successful 2-point conversion run. He showed great footwork, burst, and the ability to follow his blocks and explode down the field. He sees the field well, knows what he needs to do, and has a 2nd gear that allows him to out-run most defenders. He was excellent all game and torched the Villa Rica defense with ease. He’s a junior athlete whose stock will continue to rise, and with that could come more offers.
Sammy Brown Sammy Brown 6'2" | 225 lbs | ATH Jefferson | 2024 State GA – Jefferson
The 5-star athlete did it again. Another week means another dominant game for the current top-ranked player in Georgia for the 2024 class. A tremendous athlete with size, power, and speed, Brown showcased all of his traits against Loganville over the weekend. The elite linebacker is also one of the more productive backs in the state and gave another monster performance in Jefferson’s week 10 win. Thee impressive Dragon rushed 19 times in the 42-6 win over Loganville for 282 yards and five touchdowns. When he touched the ball, good things happened, and it was easy to see his 5-star talent. One of his five touchdown runs came from 98-yards away where he burst through the line of scrimmage and glided his way to a long, easy touchdown. He’s a strong and physical runner, but he has the speed to torch defenses on any particular play. The 5-star easily had one of his best games of the season in the win,.
Quay Whitfield, RB, Callaway:
The Cavaliers are one of the top programs in West Georgia and have a history of producing high-level running backs. They now have another one on the roster in senior Qua Whitfield. A hard, physical runner who knows how to bowl through tackles, Whitfield had a game for the ages in a big 49-20 win over Eagle’s Landing Christian over the weekend, rushing 29 times for an impressive 293 yards and six touchdowns. He was just too much to handle for the ELCA defense, and running behind an excellent line, Whitfield was able to have one of the best games of his high school career. The 5-foot-10 205-pounder breaks a lot of tackles, runs with balance, and one of the best in the area around the goal-line. He falls forward for extra yards on a consistent basis and incredibly tough to bring down by just one defender.
Caden Williams Caden Williams 5'11" | 200 lbs | ATH Calhoun | 2024 State GA , RB, Calhoun:
We’ve written about Williams a good bit so far this season, and it’s because the Calhoun star continues to put up big numbers and carry the Yellow Jackets offense on his back. A tough, speedy runner with plenty of size, Williams has been tough to stop all year and couldn’t be stopped by the Dalton defense, either. He rushed a school-record 40 times for an outstanding 261 yards and three touchdowns in the big 28-13 win. The versatile 5-foot-11 200-pounder runs with authority, and while he has plenty of speed, he’s also a physical runner who keeps the chains moving. He’s almost unstoppable in goal-line and short-yardage situations, making him one of the most reliable and dependable backs in North Georgia. He’s having a dominant senior season and has shown the ability to play at the next level. He should have plenty of offers rolling in the way he’s been running this fall.
