Get started w/ your Tennessee HS action right here w/ our Week Ten preview, looking at some of the best games from across the state and boy do we have some big time matchups!!

1. Baylor (7-1) at MBA (8-0)

- The biggest game of the state for Week Ten is right here and it should be an exciting contest between two of the more talented teams in the state of Tennessee. This will be a line of scrimmage game and a battle between two stellar quarterbacks in [player_tooltip player_id='102308' first='Marcel' last='Reed'] and [player_tooltip player_id='323145' first='Whit' last='Muschamp'] that should go toe to toe and battle with each other until the final whistle. Whoever doesn't make the most mistakes will win this D2-Class 3A showdown.

Key Matchup: Baylor's defensive front seven vs. Reed & the Big Red O-line

Game Prediction: Baylor 27 MBA 23

2. Tyner Academy (8-0) at Alcoa (7-1)

- We will find out how good the Rams are after a Friday night contest against a perennial power in Alcoa, who is well aware that they have an undefeated team coming to their home turf. Tyner Academy will need a masterful performance from senior QB [player_tooltip player_id='474873' first='Josh' last='Jackson'] and an aggressive and football smart defense to come up with this road victory. No matter the result, the Rams will be fine and a top title contender in Class 2A but if they can win or come close to winning, it will prove that Tyner Football is legit.

Key Matchup: The Rams defense vs. [player_tooltip player_id='302319' first='Jordan' last='Harris'] and the Tornadoes rushing attack

Game Prediction: Alcoa 31 Tyner Academy 20

3. Collierville (7-1) at Bartlett (6-2)

- Class 6A-Region 8 has been wild this year with four teams pushing for the top spot and this game will go a long way towards who ends up becoming region champs. The Dragons are coming off their 1st defeat of the year and you can bet they are itching to get back on the field but a talented Bartlett team stands in their way. The Panthers have one of the best secondaries in the state, so they will certainly test junior QB [player_tooltip player_id='258673' first='Aidan' last='Glover'] and the Dragons passing attack. This should be a classic that is not settled till the very end!

Key Matchup: [player_tooltip player_id='309111' first='Andy' last='Bell'] & the Dragons run game vs. the Panthers defensive front seven

Game Prediction: Collierville 21 Bartlett 17

4. Maryville (6-2) at Knox. West (8-0)

- This is a battle of East Tennessee heavyweights and two state title contenders in their respective classifications. Both these teams play a physical brand of football, so the trenches with players like [player_tooltip player_id='118718' first='Cal' last='Grubbs'] and [player_tooltip player_id='301377' first='C.J.' last='Smith'] will be an area that can dictate the outcome of this game. Knox. West has more skill and athleticism but the Rebels are technique sound with a strong senior class leading the way, so this will be an interesting battle that could see either team come out on top.

Key Matchup: [player_tooltip player_id='102349' first='Noah' last='Vaughn'] & the Rebels run game vs. the Knox. West front seven

Game Prediction: Knox. West 28 Maryville 21

5. Haywood (8-0) at Covington (7-1)

- Both the Tomcats and the home Chargers have put together impressive season's up to this point but one of them must take a loss come Friday night. These teams are similar in several ways as both like to run the ball and both lean on their defense's to keep them in games. Haywood has dominated most of their opponents this year but this could be their toughest challenge yet as [player_tooltip player_id='150379' first='A.C.' last='Mason-Young'] and [player_tooltip player_id='102218' first='Jamarion' last='Dowell'] pose serious threats to the Tomcats undefeated record.

Key Matchup: [player_tooltip player_id='222286' first='Bishop' last='Owens'] & the Tomcats front seven vs. the Chargers run game

Game Prediction: Haywood 34 Covington 20

6. Macon Co. (7-1) at Smith Co. (7-1)

- It's been a banner season for both the road Tigers and the home Owls but something must give on Friday night when these two clash in what could be one of the best overall games of Week Ten. Both squads have one blemish on their records because both teams are well coached, technique sound and compete to the final whistle. Macon Co. has surprised many across the state and they won't be scared to walk into the Owls stadium and compete but I feel the home team will have too much in the trenches for the Tigers to overcome.

Key Matchup: Macon Co. O-line vs. the Owls front seven

Game Prediction: Smith Co. 35 Macon Co. 32

7. Bearden (6-2) at Anderson Co. (8-0)

- Can the Bulldogs walk into Mavs country and take down the top team in the Class 4A ranks? It is possible as Bearden is a good football team that doesn't shy away from competition, so Anderson Co. better be ready for a battle. The Mavs are hot right now and playing some of the best football in the state, led by [player_tooltip player_id='102284' first='Walker' last='Martinez'] on offense and [player_tooltip player_id='102213' first='Eli' last='Davis'] and others on defense. This game could go multiple ways but I foresee the Mavs being challenged for a half then walking away with the victory.

Key Matchup: Bulldogs secondary vs. Martinez, [player_tooltip player_id='153948' first='Bryson' last='Vowell'] & the Mavs passing attack

Game Prediction: Anderson Co. 38 Bearden 23

8. Brentwood Academy (6-2) at Ensworth (6-2) - Thursday

- The D2-Class AAA region title is on the line tonight for these two teams and it should be an outstanding contest with tons of college talent spread all over the field. Brentwood Academy has played a hard schedule but has battled to come up with six wins while the home Tigers have done just about the same thing. Both come into this game with good defense's and two quarterbacks in [player_tooltip player_id='219419' first='George' last='MacIntyre'] and [player_tooltip player_id='308674' first='Levi' last='Moore'] that could put up a lot of points. I don't see this being a blowout game but I do feel the road Eagles will have too much firepower.

Key Matchup: Ensworth defensive front seven vs. a strong Eagles O-line

Game Prediction: Brentwood Academy 31 Ensworth 23

9. Boyd Buchanan (6-2) at Knox. Webb (7-0)

- Can someone finally test the Spartans of Knox. Webb? Well that could happen when Boyd Buchanan rolls into Knoxville tomorrow night as the Bucs have a well balanced team and will be looking towards the opportunity to knock off an undefeated team. The Spartans have been money this year, led by [player_tooltip player_id='250834' first='Charles' last='Robinson'], Jr and their explosive offense, so their firepower provides a big challenge for the Bucs defense. This game could be close for a while but I foresee the Spartans pulling away for the win.

Key Matchup: The Buccaneers secondary vs. [player_tooltip player_id='219041' first='Markeis' last='Barrett'], Shavar Young & the Spartans passing attack

Game Prediction: Knox. Webb 35 Boyd Buchanan 23

10. Fairley (8-0) at Freedom Prep (7-1) - Thursday

- This is a massive Class 2A, West Tennessee matchup between two teams that have state title aspirations but only one can win this game. Fairley is riding an undefeated season but Friday night will be their toughest challenge yet, going up against E.J. Gilliam and a high scoring Eagles offense but the Bulldogs defense has been opportunistic and tough this season, so I think they will be ready. Whoever wins this game will set themselves up nicely with a #1 seed in the coming playoffs, so this matchup has a lot of ramifications built in.

Key Matchup: The Bulldogs secondary vs. Gilliam and the Eagles pass catchers

Game Prediction: Fairley 28 Freedom Prep 20

Other Games to Watch

- Hampton (7-1) at Unaka (5-3) - Thursday

- Smyrna (6-1) at McGavock (6-2) - Thursday

- Lausanne (6-1) at South Gibson (5-3) - Thursday

- Oak Ridge (4-4) at Dobyns-Bennett (7-1) - Friday

- Jefferson Co. (5-3) at Morristown-West (5-3) - Friday

- Giles Co. (6-2) at Cleveland (4-4) - Friday

- Oliver Springs (4-4) at Coalfield (7-1) - Friday

- Red Bank (7-1) at East Hamilton (5-3) - Friday

- McMinn Co. (6-2) at Loudon (5-3) - Friday

- Whitwell (7-1) at Sequatchie Co. (5-3) - Friday

- Brentwood (6-2) at Beech (7-1) - Friday

- Riverdale (4-4) at East Nashville (8-0) - Friday

- Green Hill (5-3) at Station Camp (5-3) - Friday

- Independence (4-4) at Page (7-1) - Friday

- Huntingdon (6-2) at Peabody (7-1) - Friday

- Hardin Co. (6-2) at Milan (5-3) - Friday

- Portland (5-3) at Springfield (6-2) - Friday

- Ravenwood (5-3) at Pope Prep (6-2) - Friday

- Lipscomb Academy (8-0) at CPA (4-4) - Friday

- DeKalb Co. (6-2) at Goodpasture (5-3) - Friday
