The Yak Report: Marist vs. Carmel Catholic

Donovan was a vital player on the first drive assisting his offense with getting the opening drive touchdown. As the rain started to fall harder, the Corsairs abandoned the pass and went run-heavy, where Donovan would continue to shine as he got the ball more. Donovan showed to be the kind of back that you can play on every down; a back who will stretch the field on early downs and get vertical up the field, and then a back who will lower his shoulder and keep his legs pounding through contact on the 3rd and short situations. John was flying around the field all night, making plays all over, even taking part in a momentum-changing safety, which then led to the punt being returned for a touchdown in the first half. The Hawkeyes have a versatile player in [player_tooltip player_id='265981' first='John' last='Nestor'], who will go to any position and play it well with vigor. John embodied the u0022play until the whistle is blownu0022 kind of effort on the field Friday night, shown in the way that he could run from sideline to sideline to attack the ball carriers and make a tackle. Kristan was able to win a majority of these battles, and it had me impressed. Kristan is a big man at the guard position for Carmel Catholic, but he is nimble on his feet and excellent at ripping down the line when he pulls and demolishes the first defender he sees. This young man is a pancake machine and always looks to strike that intimidation into opposing defenders. Chris is the kind of back who brings the hurt to opposing defenses and will lower his shoulder into an opposing player's chest to cause this hurt. Chris is the bronco that won't quit bucking, and this was apparent in a game with inclement weather where the Redhawks were forced to go run heavy. Chris was part of a 1-2 punch for the Redhawk backfield, with Marc Coy being the other side. Chris was causing havoc in the Redzone all night for the Corsairs because of his stout running style, and he was the gift that kept on giving for the Redhawks every time they fed him the ball.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":4,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"align":"","mode":"edit"} /-->
