It is close to the state championships. Teams will be playing harder than ever for the rest of the season. It is crunch time and you have to play your best. Nobody wants to go home at this time of the year. It's time to buckle down and get ready for the playoff. Here are my championship picks.

6A: Tupelo

I think that Tupelo will win the 6A state championship this year. [player_tooltip player_id='344100' first='Jeremiah' last='Harrell'] is a true leader and he has his guys ready. They know how to play good football and they are trying to get over the hump. [player_tooltip player_id='413138' first='Tristan' last='Jernigan'] is their guy on defense and he is a man child. They have what it takes to win state this year.

5A: Picayune

Picayune has not missed a beat this season. They have [player_tooltip player_id='108971' first='Dante' last='Dowdell'] and [player_tooltip player_id='344053' first='Chris' last='Davis'] who are some beast at the running back position. They also have Darrell Smith and Darnell Smith in the backfield as well. This team has what it takes. They have a lot of grit. I truly think they are the favorite to win 5A.

4A Louisville

Louisville has been on a roll. [player_tooltip player_id='340743' first='Gabriel' last='Moore'] and [player_tooltip player_id='340862' first='Christavious' last='Savior'] are the leaders of this team on defense. Key Jackson is a leader on offense. I think Louisville has the defense that will help them prevail this year. Some people say offense wins games and defense wins championships. Louisville has both. They have a good offense and can put up points to go along with that tough defense.

3A: Raleigh

Raleigh is lead by [player_tooltip player_id='106167' first='Suntarine' last='Perkins']. Suntarine is a lot to handle and so are the Lions. This team has exactly what it takes to win the state title this year. Their team is electrifying and knows how to win big games. They know how to get it done in critical situations. That's why I think that they have a strong chance to win the 3A title this year.

2A: Scott Central

Scott Central is loaded and they have a lot of talent all over the field. [player_tooltip player_id='248595' first='Quez' last='Goss'] has a team full of receivers. They have a great defense as well. They won 2A last year. It wouldn't surprise me if they won the state championship again this year. Their team is loaded and they have the personnel to repeat.

1A Bay Springs

Bay Springs is still pumping the same way they were last year. They beat the reigning 2A champs in a regular season game earlier in the season. This was an impressive win for them. They are loaded on both sides of the football. [player_tooltip player_id='106162' first='Ty' last='Jones'] goes both ways and he excels on both sides. The Miss State commit wants to get that second ring.
