Davison is a big yards after contact guy and is the best running back in California’s 2025 class.
His numbers were not gaudy but he earned everything he got. He had a 38-yard touchdown run to seal the win for Mater Dei.
Davison has plus speed and enough balance to absorb big hits and stay on his feet.
Highlights
Frazier only had 59 yards rushing but his combination of size and explosiveness is great.
He has great bursts and is a physical runner at nearly 200 pounds. Frazier can be an asset on special teams and the Monarchs could use him in the slot if they want to.
Both Mater Dei tackles, Brandon Baker Brandon Baker 6’5″ | 290 lbs | OL Mater Dei | 2024 State CA and DeAndre Carter DeAndre Carter 6’5″ | 350 lbs | OL Mater Dei | 2024 State CA , played very well and kept Brown from being under constant pressure.
Baker slid over to tackle from guard this season and become a national recruit. He’s the best pass blocker in the 2024 class in my opinion.
Highlights
I’ve always been confused as to why Mater Dei doesn’t use Shannon more in the passing game. He is long, has good agility and can cause matchup problems.
Mater Dei went to him on the opening series of the game and Brown found him for a 39-yard gain down the middle of the field.
Spencer is a good blocker and showed Friday he can make big plays as a receiver as well.
ST. JOHN BOSCO
This game was cool because it featured the top running back in the 2025 class (Davison) and the top running back in the 2024 class in Jones.
He is 6-foot-2, 220 pounds and is a physical, downhill runner. Jones ran for over 100 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown.
St. John Bosco’s offensive line played pretty well but Na’a was the best of the group in my opinion.
He was outstanding in pass protection against Mater Dei edge rushers that were constantly in the backfield last week against JSerra.
Na’a will likely slide over to guard at the college level, but I think he has the tools to remain a tackle if his school wants him to.
