SOUTHFIELD A&T vs WEST BLOOMFIELD: Game Recap

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Last Friday night, two of the top contenders in D1 squared off in an epic battle. This game was so highly talked about that it was aired on Bally Sports as the Game of The Week. The talent featured between these two rosters are off the charts!!! So much so, Coach James Franklin (Penn State Head Coach) flew in to watch the game on a helicopter!!! If you didn't get the chance to watch this star casted battle… here's the recap.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The first quarter was like any great fight… a lot feeling each other out before striking. Both teams started with their first drives ending in a punt. West Bloomfield (WB) landed the fist punch in the form of Grand Valley Commit, RB [player_tooltip player_id='243472' first='Kenneth' last='Jones'], breaking a 26 yard TD to put the Lakers up 7-0 to end the first.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The second quarter is when the firework show started! West Bloomfield's WR, Ralph Rodgers, started off the show with a 30 yard rushing TD. A&amp;T trailing 14 decided to get on the board, and it was with the speed of Junior WR, Jawon Jarrett, with a score from 10 yards out. The ensuing kickoff, WB's Bryce ”Blaze” Rowe deciding to steal A&amp;T's momentum by taking the kickoff 82yds to the crib! A&amp;T wasn't going to lay down though, their next drive was very well put together, ending with Junior QB, [player_tooltip player_id='77216' first='Isaiah' last='Marshall'], breaking a power read 56 yards for six!! Don't worry the firework weren't done yet… before the half, Michigan Commit, WR Semaj Morgan, showed off his QB skills connecting with TE DeAndre Hill, for a 22 yard bomb on 4th and long!!!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>West Bloomfield up 28-14 at the half.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>To start the second half, Semaj Morgan wanted to show Wolverine fans that he can play defense too, by taking an INT all the way to barn on A&amp;T's first drive. The Warriors had to punt the ball away on their second drive... The Lakers closed off the 3rd with the ball and up 35-14.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Still with possession, RB [player_tooltip player_id='243472' first='Kenneth' last='Jones'], broke a 62 yards rushing TD… giving him his second of the night, to put the Lakers up 42-14. The Warrior, showed that they're going to fight to the last whistle… Isaiah ”Zeke” Marshall decided to get in done with his legs yet again, for a 15 yard TD. The Warriors' defense forced WB to punt on the next drive, giving A&amp;T some momentum… but that momentum was robbed once again when Semaj Morgan recorded his second interception of the night!!! Southfield had once last chance to put some points on the board in the last minutes of the 4th and that's exactly what they did, with a TD pass thrown by Marshall to end the game.
