Here’s a look at some prospects who stood out on this night:
An accomplished multi-sport athlete, Timmons exudes leadership on the gridiron. He powers the Spartan offense as a dual-threat quarterback with an accurate arm and elusive moves in the open field. If Timmons chooses football on the next level, he projects as an athletic safety who’s a sure tackler and strong in coverage. He picked off two passes on this night. Oh, and he also punts.
Highlights
Another versatile performer on the field, Stahle returns punts and kicks, locks down the other team’s top wideout as a cornerback and runs crisp routes with sure hands as a receiver. I think his best spot in college would be defensive back with an added bonus of contributing on special teams.
Highlights
White shines on the baseball diamond and that might be his college sport. However, he could help plenty of football programs on the next level. He’s a strong running back with good vision and power, but linebacker would be his best spot in college. He supports the run really well, finds his fits and moves well in coverage.
Ben Kampman
Ben Kampman
The son of former University of Iowa and NFL defensive end Aaron Kampman, Ben Kampman brings to mind his father when he played in high school. Ben is technically sound with speed off the edge. He reports running the 40 in 4.62 seconds, the type of speed that helps him track down opposing quarterbacks and running backs. If he can bulk up a bit and add some strength, there’s an intriguing prospect here.
Blalock moves really well for a bigger body. He’s fluid as an offensive left tackle with good footwork and hands. He provides push in the run game and repeatedly puts opponents on their heels. Defensive tackle might be his best position on the next level, however. He plays with excellent leverage, getting under the opposition’s pads and quickly getting off blocks.
Highlights
Ethan Walker
Ethan Walker
Walker looks the part as a right offensive tackle. He moves well for his size and squares up defenders. He knows how to utilize his hands and plays with good balance. His frame could take on more weight and strength without losing speed and quickness. That bodes well for him sliding into guard or center in college if need be.
Brady Coffman
Brady Coffman
Only a sophomore, Coffman is an excellent athlete who is developing as a quarterback. He produces as a runner with good vision, some power and quickness. He shows off a strong arm with a quick release. He also lined up at receiver in this game. He could end up thriving at a different position in college depending on how his body and game develops as a signal caller.
