Mr. Domitien is a young man that’s been on my radar since last season and continues to impress. In his highlights below, he’s able to work both in the backfield as well as an X receiver. When he’s in the backfield, he has the vision to hit cutback lanes when the frontside lanes are clogged up getting net positive yards on the play. When he’s lined up at receiver, he can get in/out of his breaks quickly to create separation on the play and works back toward the ball. There are a few plays where he was running comeback routes and makes an impressive catch both times along the sideline using a toe tap to secure the catch. All in all, this is a versatile young man that has a very high upside. Twitter
Highlights
Antonio DeWald
Antonio DeWald
Once Mr. DeWald has the rock in his hands, he uses his vision to find the running lane quickly between the tackles and hits it hard. This results in him being able to break long runs either for a big gain or for six. What stands out the most about this young man is his ability to keep his feet driving through the whistle as a few times by doing so was able to pick up a handful of extra yards on the play. One area to keep an eye on is his ability to weave in/out of defenders in open space. As he continues to develop this trait, he could potentially become a big offensive threat to the ICE Conference over the next few years. Twitter
Anthony Smiley
Anthony Smiley
Mr. Smiley works as an offensive tackle and is a new name to me this fall season. His ability to block in-line is one to keep an eye on as he can wash defenders down and can get to 2nd level blocks to create running lanes for the ball carrier. He does flash his pass pro where he can mirror to tie up the edge rusher at times – would love to see how consistent he can be in this regard. Twitter
John Thompson
John Thompson
Mr. Thompson is a new name to me this fall season and man can he play. Turn on the first two clips in his highlights below and holy cow they catch your attention as he lays the boom. In the first, he comes off a corner blitz blowing up the QB forcing a fumble and in the 2nd he triggers downhill quickly from a two-high safety look to pop the ball carrier in the flat for a loss on the play. Safe to say he’s not afraid to get involved in run support. Switching over to pass coverage, this young man can hold his own one-on-one working on an island. Standing at 6’2, he has long reach and isn’t afraid to contest catches. What stands out the most in his man coverage is how quickly he can get hands on when pressing to jam the release of the receiver and then stay on the receiver’s hip pocket through the route allowing little to no separation. All in all, I’m very impressed with this young man’s film and if you don’t have him on your board you do now. Twitter
Mr. Morris is a young man I got the chance to see LIVE during last season’s 4A IHSA State Championship game. Fast forward to this season, this young man hasn’t missed a step as he can take a 3 step slant to the house for six by getting vertical quickly once he secures the catch. Not to mention his ability to secure contested catches by high pointing the ball in the endzone for six as well. This young man can work out of the slot, as an H back, as well as an in-line tight end. All of which he adds to the dominance offensive attack that Sacred Heart-Griffin has. His receiving skills are impressive, what stands out the most to me is his willingness to be physical at the point of attack when run blocking. Here, he drives his feet through the whistle and does so even if the play is going away from him. All in all, this young man is one of the many deadly weapons Sacred Heart-Griffin has on their offensive attack and one that get get it done in both offensive attacks. Twitter
