Who are they? Prep Redzone takes a look…
Justin Baker – RB – Buford
A tough, physical back out of Buford, Baker may not be the first-string back for the powerful Wolves, but he would be a bell-cow for most programs across the peach state. The sophomore back had an excellent showing against Mill Creek last week, and it landed him an offer from the in-state Georgia Bulldogs. The 5-foot-10 190-pounder is a versatile weapon for Buford off the bench with soft hands out of the backfield. He also knows how to break tackles in the run game. He may not light up the state sheet as the No. 2 back on the roster, but when you watch him play, it’s easy to see the talent he possesses. He’s having a great sophomore season this fall and has a chance to help close the season strong with a late playoff push next month. He’s a 2025 back in Georgia who should see more offers come his way sooner than later.
Josiah Allen – Wheeler
A new breakout running back out of Cobb County, Allen is a slippery, explosive back at 5-foot-10 190-pounds who has been consistently running through defenses left and right this season. Just a sophomore, Allen is a back who already knows how to natural elude defenders down the field. He’s quick, shows good change of direction, and has been an outstanding weapon for the Wheeler offense all season long. He’s gotten better and better each game and has rushed for at least 125 yards in each of the last five games. He’s also rushed for at least 200 yards in three of his first seven games. In total, Allen has rushed for 1,234 yards on 133 carries for an average of 9.3 yards per carry, making him one of the more productive backs in the Marietta area. His 176 yards per game average shows that he already has the talent to play at the D1 level down the road. Look for his stock to continue to rise over the winter.
Drew Burmeister – Woodstock
A sure-tackling middle linebacker that sure doesn’t play like a sophomore, Burmeister is the leading tackler in Georgia for the 2025 class. A good athlete who plays with toughness, Burmeister has natural instincts and knows how to come downhill and fill the running lanes between the tackles. He gets to the ball in a hurry and having a fantastic sophomore season while leading the Woodstock defense. He’s made 79 total tackles so far this season for an average of 10 tackles per game. He’s made 10+ tackles in four games this season with his best performance coming against rival Etowah, making 14 tackles with two TFLs. He’s made one sack as well along with one fumble recovery and two forced fumble. He’s a true sophomore linebacker to know north of Atlanta.
Logan Brooking – Savannah Christian
A nasty, mean EDGE defender who knows how to deliver a hit, the sophomore from Savannah plays a lot like his father, former Atlanta Falcon linebacker Keith Brooking. He looks the part physically for his age at 6-foot-4 215-pounds and has been dominating opposing linemen all season long. He’s quick off the ball, gets off blocks, and knows how to get after the quarterback. He’s a terrific pass-rusher and leaves a bruise when he gets there. He’s one of the state’s leading sack leaders for the 2025 class and he’s only getting better. He’s made eight sacks on the season and shows plenty of D1 potential. Eventually, the offers will start flooding in. He’s also made an impressive 42 tackles on the season with 10 TFLs. He’s a young EDGE defender to know who could see his recruitment take off after college coaches get a hold of his sophomore film once the season ends.
