The class of 2023 is still on the clock, and many prospects are narrowing down their opportunities while others look for just one. In today’s article, I’ll break down some of the films submitted to the Prep Redzone Ohio community film drop on Twitter, along with other prospects that caught my eye.
Let’s dive in!
Our OVC Athlete of the Week, presented by @SchmidtFamilyRG, is @FootballIronton‘s @CarpenterTayden.
Carpenter was 14-of-18 passing for 223 yards and four touchdowns — to three different receivers — in Friday’s 49-7 win over Rock Hill. pic.twitter.com/YqB5O5GpVarn— Southern Ohio Sports Authority (@SOSAOhio) October 4, 2022
rnWhat I like about Carpenter is that he knows the game of football and can beat you in many ways. In the passing game, Tayden has racked up honors here in October, earning Ohio Valley Conference player of the week for his phenomenal performance vs. Rock Hill. Tayden does an excellent job working his feet in the pocket and has the mobility to make lateral cuts. Carpenter also holds over a 4.0 GPA, making him even more attractive to college coaches on the hunt for a QB in the class of 2023. You can expect Ironton to make a deep run in the state playoffs this season, as they are loaded in all positions with the leadership of a veteran quarterback.
Highlights
Raleigh Guice III
Raleigh Guice III
Raleigh “Trey” Guice III has brought a lot to the table for the Raiders in 2022 with his 6’4 frame and athleticism. Trey has over 20 offers from NAIA, D2, and D3 colleges. It makes sense for these schools to want this intelligent and athletic young man with plenty of upsides over the next several years. Guice does an excellent job of engaging his defender and making initial contact but needs to work on finishing his blocks to gain maximum exposure. Trey will be an excellent pick-up for a team needing his skill set and could potentially play on the interior at the next level.
Brennen Schramm

rnOne of the most underrated prospects in Ohio and could be on a D1 roster next fall, in my opinion. Schramm can make spectacular catches, and his speed is a strong point for this star WR. When it comes to 50/50 balls, he is the one that comes up with the ball more than half the time; Schramm can climb the ladder and go up and get the ball with great timing. I had a chance to meet and watch Brennen this off-season at the All Ohio Showcase, and he left me walking away, telling everyone that he is a natural playmaker. Brennen was honored with the player of the month for the Greater Cleveland Conference for his performance in September; keep an eye on this prospect!
Tyrin Murrell
Tyrin Murrell
Tyrin is one of the bright spots for the Bowsher Blue Racers football team, as he is the ultimate utility player for his team. Murrell has played almost every position on the field, never loses enthusiasm for the game, nor does he complain; he makes plays. With over 500 yards all-purpose, two picks, several PBUs, and landing over 50 tackles on the season, you can tell that his football IQ adds up on both sides. With his high GPA, he will be sought after by many schools that will need an athlete that can potentially help them right away.
Warren Bloodworth Jr
Warren Bloodworth Jr
Before I go too far, let’s talk about Warren’s football acumen. Warren is one of those tough defenders that can do it all. His football IQ is one of the best in the region, and it’s a good thing for Glenville because they have an excellent chance to win it all this year. Last season he played for the state champions in D1 (St. Edwards) and brought a lot of knowledge to the program. Bloodworth is good in coverage and anticipates the football well. I believe that he has a chance of being a box player at the next level, either as a Rover or OLB.
