Edison needed a win to keep playoff hopes alive and Collinsville needed to bounce back from their loss versus Grove from the previous week. Collinsville ended up winning 42-21 on the night to keep them tied in second in district. Edison, with this loss, needed Rogers to beat Claremore to keep playoff hope alive. Claremore beat Rogers 14-7 Friday night to eliminate Edison from the playoffs.
Collinsville
Hudson Henslick Hudson Henslick 5'9" | 155 lbs | WR Collinsville | 2024 State OK – WR – 2024
Not a better person to start with on this report other than Henslick. Henslick had 3 touchdowns on the night from 31, 68, and 33 yards out. Seeing him live he ran smooth out on the edge and was patient for the blocks to set up on his jet sweeps. There were numerous times Henslick would have his hand on his blockers back waiting for space
to open up. He has good vision out in the open and made a couple of cuts on his long 68-yard touchdown run. I liked seeing Henslick in space and using his vision to set up big plays for the Cardinals offense.
Colten Christian Colten Christian 6'5" | 285 lbs | OL Collinsville | 2024 State OK – OL – 2024
I had the opportunity to see Christian during team camp at Claremore back in the summer. I like watching how aggressive he plays out in the trenches and how he likes to dominate his opponents. He comes off the ball with the guard and works a good double team as they push up to the linebacker. He has a good initial first punch and creates separation on his defender with good extension. Christian plays with a solid base and good leverage against the defensive lineman. Christian likes to play physical while finishing off his blocks. I liked his pass set as he set a good anchor and didn’t allow his defender to get around him.
Edison
Luke Parish – QB – 2023
Being a 3-year starter, Parish has gotten better each year he has come in at the helm at quarterback for the Eagles. Parish has thrown for over 2,300 yards and 20 total touchdowns. Against Collinsville, Parish threw for 291 yards and finished with 31 completions out of 52 throws. Parish threw the ball good all night long. He made smart reads and got the ball out quickly. Parish also took off with the ball and made a couple runs to keep the drives alive. He did have a 19-yard touchdown run off a quarterback draw.
Jeremiah Lazenby – WR – 2023
One of the receivers Parish looked to throw the ball to was Lazenby. Lazenby had 10 receptions for 98 yards and led the teams with receiving yards. Lazenby is the number 2 receiver in receptions for the Eagles as Corey Rowland (who we wrote about Thursday) is the number one leading wide receiver. Lazenby has soft hands and made several spot catches or off an RPO where Parish threw him a quick slant. Lazenby made good one cut steps to get up field with the ball in his hands. I also liked how he created separation from the line of scrimmage to get open for Parish.
DK Spears – WR/OLB – 2023
Spears led the team with receptions with 13 catches. He had 68 total yards receiving and made most of his catches out in the flats or quick spot passes. Spears is someone that Parish counted out and was one of his go to guys on short yardage plays. I really liked Spears out at the Eagles Safety position which also lines up out at outside linebacker. Spears ended the night with 11 tackles including a few tackles for loss. Collinsville ran a play action pass and tried hitting the wide receiver on a slant, but Spears was standing in the passing window. He took off for a 22-yard scamper before being tackled to set up their offense in good field position.
