In my view, this is when players start to become their own and develop into Stars. So Today, let’s a look at some Sophmore who I see as the top of their class.
Hudson Arbach Hudson Arbach 6'1" | 290 lbs | OL Sioux Falls Washington | 2025 State SD – G/T, 6’1″ 285lbs, Sioux Falls Washington
Arbach has really stood out to me in the snaps that he has taken for a multitude of reasons but overall he is playing like a veteran blocker with the moves he can pull off in-game. The most important thing that I have seen about his game overall is how well he can play just about any position on the offensive line and do it well. He mostly slots in as an interior blocking guard who can stop most defensive linemen at a high level and open up running lanes like no other of his running backs. This trait also extends to when you want to play him as an outside tackle who also can give you some passing blocking at a high level. I see him fitting as a blindside tackle in the future of his ability to shift his feet well and use his surprisingly good agility to his advantage. For being just a Sophomore, Arbach has really impressed me with his talents on the field and I am looking forward to what he can do next.
Sam Glesiah – RB/OLB, 5’8″ 160lbs, Sioux Falls Jefferson
Glesiah might be undersized but that does not stop him from playing like an elite talent on the field overall. Glesiah plays two positions quite well on both sides of the ball but I see him transitioning and becoming more of a standard power back as he counties to hone in on his game. At the RB position is where he truly excels as a lead power back who makes holes in the defensive line instead of trying to find them like other backs. His speed along with his ability to break tackles is something I see as his biggest strength overall and doing it at a high level this early is very impressive to me. Not to mention when he gets the ball in open space you might as well consider it a touchdown since he has another level of speed he can kick into when he needs to. On defense, he has just as much talent as a dangerous OLB who can come off the edge fast and low down a big hit. Glesiah’s biggest advantage in that sense is that sense, he is smaller and more agile than other OLBs, he can blow by O-Lineman and rack up TFLs. Glesiah already has a high floor with his talent right now, but with what he is doing I see him having a higher ceiling.
Randy Nimey – DB, 6’0″ 165lbs, Sioux Falls Lincoln
Nimey has shown some flashes of being a versatile defensive back who can do a variety of things and it has stood out to me how well he can do it all. Nimey can play any of the 3 main defensive back positions so let’s take a look at what he does and what his strengths are in each of those spots. At the cornerback slot, he is a fast and agile CB who can keep up with the fastest players to give them some consistent coverage and make them feel pressure when he is on them. While he plays well at the CB positions, I see him slotting in more as a lurking and fast safety who is a universal coverage style of player. That is where he has had the most success so far as a Safety of any variety overall. He reads the plays and can blow up out in the mid-field to try and pick a ball off before the QB can even realize that it is going to be picked off. Nimey can truly lurk around in the field and read QBs quite well, while it might not get him interceptions, he can stop plays and cause passes to be broken up. Keep your eye out for Nimey and see what he does when he gets a lot of playing time for his team.
Cohen Zahrbock – WR, Yankton
Zahrbock does not have much attention but I view him as a sleeper for a top wideout for the years coming up. Zahrbock uses his big frame to get above defenders with his lanky arms to bring passes down to him. While I have not seen much game time of him, his potential is sky-high in the tape and limited snaps I have seen of him. What I have seen of him is someone who wants to work and shows so much effort when he gets going and gets the ball into his hands, he makes something happen. His ability is coming out to me as a playmaker, someone who when he gets the ball in his hands, he gets results like no other. Zahrbock looks hungry to work and shows that he wants to be one of the best wideouts that the game has in South Dakota, his talents have truly impressed me and I am looking forward to seeing what he can do when he gets the ball in his hands.
