Who are they?
Prep Redzone takes a look…
Tyson Greenwade – Dalton
A true breakout back who is running through defenses every Friday night, Greenwade has plenty of size and speed in his 6-foot-0 195-pound frame and is looking like former Dalton standout and current Alabama back Jahmyr Gibbs. Greenwade is coming off a dominant game last weekend where he rushed for 375 yards and four touchdowns in a win over Hiram. He runs with balance, has great footwork, and knows how to change directions on a dime. He has some explosiveness to his game and knows how to run away from defenders for a big gain. He’s a big-play waiting to happen whenever he has the ball and has a natural running style. He’s looking to score every time he has the ball and it might lead to some offers later this fall. Through five games, Greenwade has rushed for over 1,300 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Quan Moss – Elbert County
A strong back who knows how to carry defenders, Moss is one of the most productive backs in North Georgia and having an excellent senior season so far. A powerful runner who is tough to bring down by one defender, Moss has no problem running downhill but also has enough speed to get to the edge and up the sideline for a big gain. Leading Elbert County to a strong 6-0 start, Moss has rushed for over 100 yards in each game this season, with big games of 237 and 214 rushing yards. He’s totaled 980 yards through his first six games, averaging 6.2 yards per carry and 163 yards per game. He’s also found the end-zone 12 times so far as a senior this fall.
Ethan Blome – Adairsville
An extremely productive back and one of North Georgia’s best junior backs so far this year, Blome plays in the small town of Adairsville but has earned some recognition for his play so far this season. At 5-foot-9 180-pounds, Blome plays bigger than his size and knows how to break tackles and stay on his feet. He runs with balance, shows good vision, and explodes down the field once he gets through the line of scrimmage. He’s been tough to stop all year long and makes the most of each carry. So far as a junior, Blome has rushed for 797 yards in six games, averaging an impressive 9 yards per carry and over 132 yards per game. His biggest game this year came against Cass where he took off for 280 yards and three touchdowns. He’s also scored 8 touchdowns so far this year on the ground.
Christian Isibor – Cambridge
Alpharetta may not be considered “North Georgia”, but we’re putting Isibor on the list as he deserves some praise for the season he’s having so far for the Bears. Playing for an up and coming program, the 5-foot-8 165-pounder has breakaway speed and has natural running instincts. e follows his blocks well, he shows good footwork, and knows how to burst through a hole. Once he gets to his top speed in the open field, there aren’t many defenders in the area who can run him down. He’s rushed for 100 yards in each game but one so far this year, rushing for 773 yards and 9 touchdowns so far this season. He’s averaging 7.7 yards per carry and just under 130 rushing yards per game. He’s having an excellent senior season and doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.
