Syracuse Titans
Farmington started the year 7-0, while Syracuse began the season 0-2, but things can change over the course of a season. The Titans came into last Thursday’s bout with the Phoenix 7-0 since those early season losses making this the top showdown in Region 1. Syracuse’s offense clicked from start to finish as they scored at least a touchdown in every quarter. The Titan’s defense had three interceptions and four sacks as they stifled the Phoenix offense. Defensive linemen Sam Pula contributed two sacks and an interception to help Syracuse capture the Region 1 crown 40-20.
Bingham Miners
Last year the Riverton Silverwolves beat Bingham in the final game of the regular season to claim the Region 3 crown. However, in 2022 the Miners made sure to avenge last season’s loss with a 42-21 victory to take the Region. Running back Carson Sudbury and Quarterback Dallen Martinez combined to rush for 250 yards and six touchdowns as Bingham bulldozed the Silverwolves. Linebacker Kaden McBride had 10 tackles, the third time he’s done so this season, while linebacker Kaden McBride added an interception in the big win.
Skyridge Falcons
American Fork had outscored their last three opponents 53-21, but Skyridge still dominated them in last Wednesday’s game. The Falcons shoutout the Caveman and scored over 15 points in each half for the 37-0 win. Trent Call continues to answer the call; I’ll see myself out, scoring three touchdowns and helping the offense consistently move the ball. Defensive linemen

and the Falcon’s defense held strong on third and fourth down all game long. Skyridge moves to 9-1 and remains one of the state’s premier teams.
Herriman Mustangs
Herriman came into Friday’s showdown with the Mountain Ridge Sentinels 3-6, and even though they had some momentum going, a win seemed like it would be difficult to acquire. The Sentinels, just two weeks removed from a big win over West Jordan, appeared poised to end the year with a win. But the Mustangs jumped out to a 14-7 first-quarter lead and never looked back, going on for the win 34-17. Quarterback Freddy Ta’Ai had four total touchdowns as Herriman picked up a tremendous regal season-closing win.
