Avry had a statement season during his freshman campaign. Although, I don’t have official stats I do know that the Benson freshman scored double-digit touchdowns. Harris was a scoring threat whenever he touched the ball, whether he was at receiver or returning kicks. One thing that I noted about Avry was that he is very good in the open field and has the speed to burn defenses. His vision and hands are also at a high-level. Along with fellow freshman DaShawn Prince DaShawn Prince 6’3″ | 180 lbs | WR Omaha Central | 2026 State NE , the Bunnies have one of the most explosive receiver duos in the 2026 class.
The Millard South Patriots have a young star in the making in their receiver room. Freshman Amarion Jackson Amarion Jackson 6’2″ | 185 lbs | WR Millard South | 2026 State NE has been having an outstanding season stepping up in the MS offense. In seven games played this year, Amarion has already racked up 331 receiving yards on 23 receptions with 4 touchdown catches with a chance to add more as the Patriots continue their playoff run. Jackson has already displayed a solid route-running ability and a diverse route tree. Amarion is also very strong at the point of the catch and can fight through contact to tack on yardage after the catch. Very promising young wideout!

Another player making big contributions on varsity this season was North Bend Central’s Braxton Chvatal Braxton Chvatal 5’11” | 160 lbs | WR North Bend Central | 2026 State NE . On a young Tigers squad, freshman Chvatal stepped up big time and quickly became QB Kyler Hellbusch Kyler Hellbusch 6’0″ | 175 lbs | QB North Bend Central | 2024 State NE favorite target. Braxton hauled in 36 receptions for 464 receiving yards (couldn’t find TD total) and also added 42 tackles and 2 tackles for loss on defense. I really like Braxton’s route running, he’s very intentional with his movements and does a great job coming back for the ball to secure the catch. He has great open-field twitch and can usually make a defender, or two, miss before being brought down. This is going to be a player to keep a close eye on.

Omaha Westside’s Wyatt Perry Wyatt Perry 6’0″ | 165 lbs | WR Omaha Westside | 2026 NE is a lesser-known freshman WR, but already looks like he’s ready for his time to shine on varsity. Perry didn’t get to see varsity reps, but he did manage to catch quite a few eyes during camp season. What I really liked about Wyatt’s game was his hustle in general. He’s a very smart, hardworking player that didn’t take a play off. When you watch his tape, you see a young receiver with crisp routes, the ability to create separation, and excellent hands. He’s very good at making his way back to the ball and securing the ball on tough catches. With 3 more seasons to develop, Wyatt is sure to be an elite receiver when senior year comes.
