A lot to like about the 6’4” 230 lb. receiving TE out of Laguna Beach. Operating mainly out of the slot he’s a tough matchup for any high school level DB or LB with his combination of size, strength, and speed. He flashes great initial quickness and short area burst off the LOS and in his drive phase to close space and break cushion. Good fluidity and change of direction out of his breaks to create separation. Natural ball skills, he’s a hand catcher that can pluck the ball out of the air and extend to make catches outside his framework. Tough to tackle after the catch, he runs downhill and hard with great balance to absorb contact and break tackles. This season he’s racked up 54 receptions for 541 yards and six touchdowns. Holds 10 D1 offers to date with eight of them being power 5 programs but expect many more high profile offers coming his way soon.
Ideal size and length at almost 6’6” 235 lbs. with an athletic build and good growth potential. Love his ability to be take over a game as an inline TE or split out wide. Possesses natural ball skills with a large catch radius, good ability to use his body control and coordination to track/adjust to ball flight. Can use his length to attack the short/intermediate levels making tough contested catches in traffic or stretch the field vertically boxing out defenders and high pointing the ball to win 50/50 battles. Plays both sides of the ball at Homestead where he’s posted 32 receptions for almost 500 yards and two touchdowns while adding 31 tackles and six TFL’s on the defensive end. Holds five offers to so far including Cal, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon State, and Washington State.
Ideal physical skillset for the 6’6” 225 lb. TE currently at Pasadena HS. He’s a plus athlete with a long lean frame capable of adding weight without sacrificing his speed or movement skills. Loose in the hips with good acceleration off the ball, he has the ability to stick his foot in the ground, redirect, and burst away from defenders. Tough cover with his size, length, ball skills, and leaping ability. Strong after the catch, he’s quick to get square up the field and can run through contact with good leverage and balance at the POA. Picked up six D1 offers in May including five PAC12 programs but has great upside and potential to add more as he develops.
