2A’s #3 Rejoice Christian continued their gauntlet non-district schedule with a road trip to Tulsa to face 3A’s #6 Cascia Hall. Once again, their star quarterback Chance Wilson Chance Wilson 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Rejoice Christian | 2023 State OK would lead the Eagles to an impressive win. They beat Cascia Hall 42-27 and kept them at arms length throughout the evening. Wilson was a big reason behind that as he would throw for over 300 yards and two touchdowns and he also ran for over 100 yards and three touchdowns. Wilson showed why he is one of the best quarterbacks in the state and that began on the opening drive of the game.
Rejoice Christian would get the ball first and facing 3rd and 10, Wilson would uncork a bomb to fellow senior Bryce Revard Bryce Revard 6'0" | WR Rejoice Christian | 2023 OK for a 65 yard touchdown, not even 30 seconds into the game. Rejoice would go up 7-0 and they would never trail in this one. Cascia Hall would tie things up in the first quarter after picking off Wilson and two plays later, Baxter Robertson Baxter Robertson 5'11" | 180 lbs | WR Cascia Hall | 2023 State OK got loose for a 23 yard touchdown. But Rejoice would respond with another lengthy Wilson pass, this time a 49-yarder to Solomon Morton Solomon Morton 5'10" | ATH Rejoice Christian | 2023 State OK and on the next play, Drevin Reed would score from 12 yards out.
Morton would come up big again early in the second quarter when he would pick off Cascia quarterback Cooper Lai Cooper Lai 6'1" | 180 lbs | DB Cascia Hall | 2023 State OK and that set up a big 4th down conversion pass and on the next play, Wilson would score his first of three rushing touchdowns on the evening. Cascia Hall responded to that with a drive taking up seven minutes, featuring multiple 3rd down conversions, a 4th down conversion and ended with Lai scoring from two yards out with just over a minute to play before halftime. But that was enough time for Rejoice to strike again. Sophomore Cale Marley Cale Marley 5'9" | 170 lbs | ATH Rejoice Christian | 2025 State OK would return the kick 59 yards and Wilson would score from five yards out with just five seconds to go to put the Eagles up 28-14 going into halftime.
The Eagles had all the momentum and it continued from there in the third quarter. Cascia got the ball first but would be forced to punt, that would actually be the only punt on Friday night. Rejoice faced 3rd and 31 and Wilson connected with sophomore Cooper Auschwitz Cooper Auschwitz 6'1" | 175 lbs | LB Owasso | 2025 State OK on a 55 yard pass and a few plays later, Wilson rumbled in from three yards out. And with a 35-14 lead with 3:44 left in the third quarter, it was going to be tough for Cascia Hall to catch up with their rushing attack on offense. Cascia would score on their next drive but Rejoice immediately responded. Wilson connected with Revard again, this time on a 45 yard touchdown on the second play of the final quarter to put Rejoice up 42-21. Cascia would score again but the hole was too deep.
Both teams play incredibly tough non-district schedules. Cascia Hall now turns their attention to a road game against Berryhill next week. Meanwhile Rejoice will square off with Beggs in one of the marquee 2A match-ups this year. That’s #3 Rejoice hosting #2 Beggs. Below, we take a look at some of the top performers from Rejoice Christian. Stay tuned to Prep Redzone Oklahoma later today for a look at some of the top performers from Cascia Hall.
REJOICE CHRISTIAN TOP PERFORMERS
We knew that Rejoice Christian had weapons on the offensive side of the ball and plenty of receivers around QB Chance Wilson Chance Wilson 6’3″ | 185 lbs | QB Rejoice Christian | 2023 State OK but one receiver we didn’t know much about was 2023 wideout Bryce Revard Bryce Revard 6’0″ | WR Rejoice Christian | 2023 OK . We figured out who he was pretty quickly as he was yet another weapon for Wilson to get the ball to. On the third play of the game, Revard got behind the defense and was all by himself on 3rd down and Wilson found him for a 65 yard touchdown. That was the first of two touchdowns on the game and both were big plays. Revard’s two touchdowns totaled 110 yards combined and he finished as the leading receiver in receptions, yards and touchdowns. Rejoice has several players that can step up and lead the team in receiving this season and it wouldn’t surprise us if they had four to five different guys leading the team in any given week. Revard adds more depth to an already potent offense.
Rejoice star quarterback Chance Wilson Chance Wilson 6’3″ | 185 lbs | QB Rejoice Christian | 2023 State OK lived up to the hype as he went up against a tough Cascia Hall defense and torched them for over 300 passing yards and two touchdowns. Plus over 100 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the ground. We knew that Wilson was going to put up numbers but it was the amount of big plays on huge third downs that was the most impressive thing. Wilson finished 11-18 for 305 yards and the two touchdowns. But 6 of those 11 completions were for at least 25 yards. He wasn’t just dumping it off or throwing short routes. He was going for deep ball after deep ball and more times than not, he was connecting on them. And at 6’4 and legit track speed, Wilson is just as dangerous running the football and showcased that skill set several times throughout the evening. It’s still early, but Wilson appears well on his way to becoming a two-time finalist for Prep Redzone Oklahoma Player Of the Year and he might be the front runner right now.
Highlights
While Wilson might have been the main attraction, there were other prospects that we were very excited about watching up close and in person on Friday night and one that stood out in all three phases was sophomore Cooper Auschwitz Cooper Auschwitz 6’1″ | 175 lbs | LB Owasso | 2025 State OK . On offense, Auschwitz is a big body that gives the Rejoice a tight end look. On defense, he’s a hard-hitting linebacker that was causing a lot of problems for Cascia Hall along the line of scrimmage. He even had one of the hardest hits of the night when he nailed a Cascia Hall returner on a kick off. Auschwitz is a 2025 prospect that’s been on our radar since the end of last season and Friday night was our first chance to really see what he could do in person. He can run, he can hit and he has good size. We like his potential moving forward but we’re still on the fence on what his natural position will be at the next level. With how he hits, we’re leaning to the defensive side of the ball.
Highlights
Another player that has an impact in all three phases of the game for Rejoice is senior Solomon Morton Solomon Morton 5’10” | ATH Rejoice Christian | 2023 State OK . He finished with two catches for 80 yards with both receptions coming for more than 30 yards a piece. On defense, Morton also came up with an interception and appears to be well on his way to leading the team in interceptions for the second straight season. And Morton is also a dangerous kick returner, although Cascia opted to kick away from Morton on Friday night so we didn’t get to see him shine in that department. But that was probably a smart choice on Cascia’s part. Morton is a very underrated and complete prospect who can impact a game in so many different ways. The offensive part speaks for itself but his ability to always be in the right place on defense as a ball hawk is very impressive to watch. Then you throw in what he can do in special teams and the Eagles have an absolutely complete player.
