West Georgia Quarterbacks Having Breakout 2022 Season

At 5-foot-11 170-pounds, McNeal is dynamic with the ball in his hands with the length and athleticism to play in the secondary at the next level if given an opportunity somewhere. He may not play against the best competition, but his talent and productivity is still easy to see. He throws the ball well, but his ability to make plays with the ball in his hands is why he's become one of the break quarterbacks in West Georgia this year. As a passer, McNeal has thrown for 542 yards and seven touchdowns to just one INT. As a runner he's rushed for 621 yards and seven more touchdowns. He's also intercepted a pass and taken it back for a touchdown.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='206164' first='Julian' last='Lewis'] - Carrollton</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We've written about the freshman phenom before, and he continues to impress each time he puta the pads on. Just a freshman, Lewis has led a powerful Carrollton program to an undefeated start to the season and he's become one of the state's leading passers through the first few weeks of the season. A tremendous passer with incredible arm strength and 5-star potential, Lewis has dominated so far this season and has become arguably the best overall quarterback in all of West Georgia. The 6-foot-1 175-pounder is 110/166 (66.3%) passing so far this season with an outstanding 23 touchdown passes and just four INTs. He sees the field like a veteran with easy D1-caliber arm strength. He moves well in the pocket and has natural playmaking ability as well. He's a reliable runner as well, rushing for 14.8 yards per carry. Look for Lewis to lead the Trojans to a deep playoff run and a chance to bring Carrollton another state championship this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><a href="https://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/sire-hardaway/M2zb0cVXEeqAzqREozo6lw/football/stats.htm">Sire Hardaway</a> - Douglass County</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another West Georgia gunslinger towards the top of the state's passing leaderboard, Hardaway is having an excellent senior season this year, although he's coming off a tough performance against Langston Hughes, one of the top teams in the state. The 6-foot-0 160-pounder was terrific through the first four games of the season, with games of 292 passing yards, 410 yards, 280 yards, and 346 yards. He also threw for 9 touchdowns in those games before being handles by a talented Langston Hughes defense. He's also shown the ability to run, rushing for 98 yards and two touchdowns in a game against McEachern. He's smart with the football, has plenty of experience now, and has shown a big arm this year. He's been very productive and has lead an offense that has scored 52, 49, 31, and 31 points through the first four games of the year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='137480' first='Taeo' last='Todd']</strong> - <strong>Troup County</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the state, Todd has been outstanding all season long, dominating defenses with both his arm and his legs each Friday night. Not only has he led Troup County to an excellent 5-0 start to the season, he's also looked great doing it. As a passer, Todd has thrown for 780 yards and a respectable 156 yards per game. He takes care of the football, throwing 11 touchdowns to just four INTs on the season. An explosive runner who knows how to elude defenders, he's so tough to stop as a runner and has rushed for 886 yards and 12 touchdowns. He's such a threat with his legs and knows how to take off for a big gain on any particular play.
