We have reached the middle of September and with it Week 4 of the prep football season here in Iowa.

The fall has featured some incredible performances and great games already, and you know as we continue to march towards the postseason, it is only going to get better.

Here is a look at some of the top individual performances from this past week around north-central Iowa:

[player_tooltip player_id='152539' first='Connor' last='Carver'] - Fort Dodge

He has already been featured here this year, but it is hard to ignore what [player_tooltip player_id='152539' first='Connor' last='Carver'] continues to do for the Fort Dodge Dodgers. Carver, a senior, accounted for four touchdowns n a 37-23 victory over Marshalltown to help Fort Dodge get to 2-2 on the year.

The strong-armed quarterback completed 17 of 29 for 179 yards and two scores, adding a pair of rushing touchdowns to his night. Carver is not a fast runner in terms of speed from point A to point B, but he has strength and knows how to navigate through a defense to his advantage.

[player_tooltip player_id='320521' first='Patrick' last='Daugherty'] - Greene County

When Greene County needed a first down, they put the ball in the hands of [player_tooltip player_id='320521' first='Patrick' last='Daugherty']. When they needed a touchdown against Des Moines Christian, they did the exact same. And Daugherty delivered all night long.

The senior ran for 234 yards on 26 carries, scoring three touchdowns as the Rams won, 30-22. He also caught a pass and made of five tackles on defense. Daugherty is a big, strong athlete with good speed and growing skills out of the running back position.

Ryan Greenfield - Newell-Fonda

It was far from the typical blowout Friday night for Newell-Fonda, but the Mustangs imposed their will on Bishop Garrigan and scored a 19-0 victory. Much of that was on the strength of Ryan Greenfield.

Greenfield, a senior, had a hand in all three touchdowns for Newell-Fonda. He ran in two scores and had 56 yards, while catching six passes for 46 yards and another touchdown from classmate Mason Dicks. A multi-sport athlete like most from Newell-Fonda, Greenfield presents a tough challenge in the eight-player ranks to defend with his size and skills.

[player_tooltip player_id='232229' first='Will' last='Orness'] - Humboldt

Needing a spark on offense, Humboldt moved all-state wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='232229' first='Will' last='Orness'] to the quarterback position this past Friday night. Orness delivered, racking up almost 300 yards of total offense and a touchdown. The Wildcats pitched their fourth consecutive shutout on defense, so the need to score a lot of points is not required right now.

Orness, who had over 1,000 yards receiving a year ago, was 14-for-21 passing to 132 yards and a touchdown to [player_tooltip player_id='252098' first='Corey' last='Dettmann']. He ran the ball 16 times for 131 yards, giving the unit a different look than the first three weeks.

[player_tooltip player_id='156632' first='Jaxon' last='Cherry'] - Webster City

Big, strong, fast and agile would be four words that describe [player_tooltip player_id='156632' first='Jaxon' last='Cherry']. The Webster City lead back had another memorable showing in a win over Mason City, dominating the Riverhawks to the tune of 247 yards rushing and four touchdowns.

Like so many that have come before him at the school, Cherry is a wrestler that can suplex, whizzer and pin the defense with his running prowess.
