As a reminder to how this works, the players listed in this article (and series as a whole) are players we do not currently have listed in our database. With a few more performances like they had last week though, these guys could find themselves debuting in the next rankings update.
Jaylen Neal
Jaylen Neal
So far this year, Neal is proving that quality is more important than quantity when it comes to catching the football. Neal has a modest 20 catches on the season, but has taken half of them to the end zone, averaging 30 yards a catch in the process. Last Friday, he put up 160 yards and three touchdowns on just five catches in a big win over East Chapel Hill.
Like Neal, Wynn has been putting up big numbers in the receiving game, becoming more of a threat as the year has gone on. His best game to date came last Friday against Spring Creek when he caught six passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns.
Keyshawn Breedlove
Keyshawn Breedlove
I’ve been looking for a chance to get Breedlove into this piece for weeks. Last week against West Wilkes he averaged nine yards a carry on the ground and added six tackles on defense. He’s in the top 15 in the state in rushing on the season, has added an interception and has three long punt returns. He can do it all for Central Davidson.
Cross Killen
Cross Killen
Killen has been all over the field this year, recording at least nine tackles, including at least one for loss, every game this season. Friday may have been his best in a huge win over Topsail. Killen finished with 11 solo tackles, a tackle for loss and a quarterback hurry. He’s been a big part of Charlotte Christian’s strong start.
