Continue ReadingPrep Redzone New England will be publishing a scouting report that includes short evaluations of all the Top Playmakers of a game who caught the attention of the Prep Redzone Regional Scout in attendance. The evaluations will be done from live-action played games each week. Beginning with Week 1 of MIAA action, this piece will cover Brockton H.S. vs Barnstable H.S. game played on Sept 9, 2022. We have split this piece into two parts with each team playmakers mentioned separately. In this piece, we cover Barnstable H.S. who were defeated in a close 13-6 game. The following are the Top Recruit Playmakers observed:
Playing tackle for his team “Robke” was a very reliable lineman for his teammates. The senior lineman is committed to Williams College and played up to his recruitment potential. He stands 6’3″ with leadership presence. He did a great job at the tackle position and was the primary lineman many of the teams run plays were directed too. He did not disappoint as he was seen destroying defensive lineman while down-blocking his defenders to open holes. He finishes his blocks by falling on defenders if they loose their feet, or drive blocking them out of the running lanes until the whistle blows. Toughness was present in 1st quarter and still present in 4th quarter play after playing on both sides of the ball. Solid recruit!!!
Highlights
Running in a Wing T/Double wing offense, he follows his blockers really well. He was observed being patient and hitting the alley when it opened. He has a wiggle to him that is flashy and quick exposing his loose hips to change direction on the dime. Made defenders miss just by planting and cutting away on the dime from the tackle. In person one can see his physical lean frame and on the field his speed just pops. Currently holds a Div 1 University of Rhode Island offer with interest from many other schools that will likely follow suit. He is only a sophomore c/o 2025, so his name will become a Top New England favorite within his class by senior year.
Highlights
Remember the name!!!! “France” was introduced to us by his coach a week prior to the game. He is a 5’11” talented RB/Athlete who is very skilled. Played a RB/Wing for his team and was observed being shifty and quick. Has a very good burst from stance. I see him most likely being recruited as an athlete moving forward. He could play RB/WR or DB positions and time will tell what schools want from him. Has speed, agility, aggression, toughness and appears to just love the game. Showed a lot of passion and grit when he had the ball in his hands and did really well running the ball in the team’s wing t /double wing offense. He will likely continue to develop which will get him some D1-D2 interest during this season or immediately thereafter.
A name that we were hearing about from many coaches during the summer camp season. Andrew Lovell Andrew Lovell 5’11” | 185 lbs | DB Barnstable | 2024 State New E is a good recruit that has great awareness and nose for the ball. Being used in the game as what appeared to be a strong side force edge guy, he was involved in many tackles and assist. He stand’s 5’11 and one can easily see that he enjoys competing. A few times he was observed over pursuing but showed his ability to recover and still be involved in or make the play. My live observations at summer camp along with seeing him play in a live setting I project additional college interest will continue to come on board. He already has a bunch of interest from many New England schools and additional interest will likely come on board during and after the season. Has a brother “Eric” that also plays on the team and is also another college recruit.
Highlights
Entering the game, he knew he would have a very hard duty during the game to cover at least one of the two opponents Div 1 prospects. After all said and done, he stood his ground and showed he belonged. “Eric” can surely cover well. He is not afraid to press then release to hand check the receiver while defending the rout. He has the speed and the hips to turn either direction to cover. He made a nice play that really caught my attention on a pass play broken up in the end zone. (Play is below). He is getting interest from many schools in the New England and additional interest will likely come on board during and after the season.
