1.West Linn (1-0) The Lions are incredibly talented and still relatively youthful and deep. They traveled down South, blasting North Medford for the 2nd year in a row 56-6. Over the last two seasons they have beaten the Black Tornado by a combined score of 105-13.

2.Central Catholic (1-0) Never doubt the Rams. This is something I have come to learn over the last few seasons. The reigning 6A state champs lost a host of talent to graduation, along with a few key transfers ([player_tooltip player_id='104685' first='Riley' last='Williams'], [player_tooltip player_id='110189' first='Joe' last='Merlino']) and still managed to travel up North and beat the nation's #24 ranked team in Bellevue. The Wolverines were another group fresh off a 14-0 season and state title victory.

vs St John Bosco, CA (2-0)- Nation's #1 Ranked Team

3.Jesuit (1-0) The Crusaders held off a talented Skyview, WA team who scored a few late TDs, to make the final 24-21. Jesuit features the top line in the state and maybe the top 1-2 RB punch in Oregon with [player_tooltip player_id='152333' first='Lonnie' last='Burt'] 6-1 200 24' and [player_tooltip player_id='205822' first='Payton' last='Roth'] 6-4 200 23'. They rushed a combined 31 times for 254 yards and all 3 of the teams TDs.

@ #5 Lakeridge (1-0)

4.Tualatin (1-0) The T Wolves did a good job, fending off a tough and talented #1 ranked 5A Summit program 19-12. [player_tooltip player_id='110178' first='Jack' last='Wagner'] showed why he should be considered a state POY favorite, with one of Oregon's top defensive players [player_tooltip player_id='147240' first='Richie' last='Anderson'], impressing from his TE spot and catching 2 TDs.

@ McNary (0-1)

5.Lakeridge (1-0) The Pacers did as expected against a depleted McNary program, winning 47-0. [player_tooltip player_id='110242' first='Ryan' last='Oliver'] had career highs in passing yards (356) and TDs (5) as expectations are high. As noted [player_tooltip player_id='110204' first='Baylor' last='Corbin'] went off, catching 12 passes for 236 yards and 3 TDs. This weeks game against Jesuit will be telling.

6.Sheldon (1-0) As expected the Irish blasted Glencoe 56-0 with numerous athletes contributing. Oregon POY candidate [player_tooltip player_id='110187' first='Brock' last='Thomas'] and very versatile RB [player_tooltip player_id='110218' first='Grafton' last='Robinson'] did their thing. If Sheldon wants to compete with #1 West Linn on the road this week, the state's #1 recruit [player_tooltip player_id='226949' first='Teitum' last='Tuioti'] and many others will need to step up.

7.Tigard (1-0) Tigard went (2-8) a season ago, but return double digit all conference athletes. They looked outstanding in the opener, beating up on David Douglas 48-0. The Scots were without one of Oregon's top players in [player_tooltip player_id='204578' first='Caleb' last='Clardy']. That said it was still an impressive win.

8.Westview (1-0) One of the best games Week 1 was the Wildcats 31-28 win over then #8 Clackamas. [player_tooltip player_id='110209' first='Jordan' last='Fisher'] continued his tear rushing for 237 yards and 2 TDs. Westview looks to have their best team in years.

@ 5A Wilsonville (1-0)

9.Sherwood (1-0) Give credit to the Bowmen who handled a tradition rich West Salem program 31-14. Junior QB [player_tooltip player_id='278398' first='Kasen' last='Covert'] backed up the hype looking good, with Boise St commit [player_tooltip player_id='168252' first='Oliver' last='Fisher'] 6-5 220 TE/DE being too much to handle for the Titans.

@ #10 Clackamas (0-1)

10.Clackamas (0-1) The Cavs played well against Westview, just coming up short. They will face a similar matchup against #9 Sherwood this week, which is sure to be one of the most competitive matchups state wide. It will be interesting to see what Clack does at the QB spot, with junior Mateo Maehara throwing all four of his teams TDs, in the 31-28 loss. [player_tooltip player_id='157615' first='Blake' last='Baker'] did a good job last season throwing 19 TDs/2 INTs.

vs #9 Sherwood (1-0)

11.Lake Oswego (1-0) It wasn't the most impressive win but the Lakers are young, beating Barlow 20-8. They have some of the top underclassmen in the state and maybe Oregon's best coach ever in Steve Coury. It will be a battle versus West Salem.

@ #13 West Salem (0-1)

12.Mountainside (1-0) One of the most impressive wins Week 1 came via Mountainside in their 35-0 pasting of Roseburg. They are extremely well coached, and although it's early, they looked like a conference title contender. If they are truly legit, you should see them handle Barlow this coming week.

@ Barlow (0-1)

13.West Salem (0-1) I've seen West start slow numerous times over the years, as I would still have them listed among the state's best. I see their matchup versus Lake O this week being competitive, even with the 31-14 loss to Sherwood.

vs #11 Lake Oswego (1-0)

14.South Medford (1-0) South is a much improved team from a year ago and should battle for the #2 spot in the SWC. It was a quality 41-0 win at Beaverton, but for context the Beavers will struggle to win at all this year.

vs Del Norte, CA (2-0)

15.South Salem (1-0) The Saxons have an impressive group. They squeaked out a 34-28 OT victory over an average Liberty, WA team on the road. D lineman [player_tooltip player_id='152347' first='Hatimu' last='Letisi'] was wrecking kids up front, while QB [player_tooltip player_id='270087' first='Daschel' last='Smith'] continued to impress, going 22 of 30 for 360 yards and 3 total TDs.

vs Sunset (1-0)

15.Tie Oregon City (1-0 I've personally hyped Oregon City with close to double digit all TRL returners back. They did not look great, barely beating Jefferson 18-15. They will need to beat a good 5A Canby squad if they hope be a TRL playoff team.
