They both have notorious sophomores on their teams St. John has Cole Allen and Second Baptist has JD Crisp. These two young men are the heart of their teams and the future of their football teams. Both teams played admirably, but Second Baptist could not keep up with St. John’s overpowering offense and the final score was 49-21 St. John came out victorious. In this article, I’ll be discussing the St. John Eagles’ offensive standouts.
#3 Cole Allen WR, RB, SS So 5’10 180 lbs
Cole Allen or what I like to call him the rising star of St. John. This young man can do it all catch, run, block, tackle, and wherever he is needed Cole will get the job done. Cole is incredibly fast in either the running back or wide receiver position Cole could not be stopped. Besides the quarterback, Cole touched the ball most out of anyone on the field. On defense, Cole lined up as the safety to go one-on-one with JD Crisp the other notorious sophomore on Second Baptist’s roster and stopped him from scoring. Cole is a player that needs to be on everyone’s radar. Cole had amazing stats this game with 6 receptions with 163 receptions yards, 10 carries with 116 rushing yards, and four overall touchdowns.
#1 Logan Donley WR, FS Jr 6’0 175 lbs
Logan Donley is an impeccable wide receiver. Logan’s specialty was his quickness and willingness to stay on his feet. Logan caught one pass right next to the defender and I thought he was going to be brought down and get enough for the 1st down. However, Logan managed to stay on his feet and ran to the end zone for a touchdown right before halftime. Logan’s touchdown gave St. John the momentum for the rest of the game. Logan finished the game with 5 receptions, 70 receptions yards, and one touchdown.
#22 Jack Ringold WR, SS Sr 6’0 170 lbs
Jack Ringold didn’t get many chances to catch the ball, but when he did he got results. Jack was tough and when he wasn’t catching a pass he would commit to a block and make sure the ball holder had fewer defenders to worry about. When Jack did catch the pass he had an explosive run and ran for a 39-yard reception touchdown. Jack finished the game with 2 receptions, 57 receptions yards, and one touchdown.
#13 Robert Riser WR, RB, LB Sr 6’3 195 lbs
Robert Riser had one good play that stood out to me against The Second Baptist Eagles. Robert was fast and good at running the ball. Robert only caught one pass the entire game and that pass resulted in a 41-yard reception touchdown. Robert finished the game with 1 reception 41 receptions yards, 7 carries 18 rushing yards, and one touchdown.
