A lot has changed in the Top 5 since the previous update in June. There is now a new No. 1 ranked player, as well as a few newcomers joining this elite group. Be sure to keep up with these prospects the rest of the ’22 campaign.
No. 1: Caden Butler Caden Butler 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Lincoln | 2025 State CA – Olathe North, 6’0”, 170, WR

Say hello to the new top ranked prospect in the Class of ’25. Caden Butler Caden Butler 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Lincoln | 2025 State CA is a player we’ve been high on for a while now, and after seeing him perform live; it further confirmed that he is the top prospect in this sophomore class. Butler is already one of Olathe North’s top pass catchers, and he currently holds one D-I offer from Campbell University. His role is likely to expand as he continues to gain more varsity experience.
No. 2: Tate McNew Tate McNew 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Maize South | 2025 State KS – Maize South, 6’1”, 175, QB

Tate McNew Tate McNew 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Maize South | 2025 State KS moves up three spots in this update to become the 2nd ranked prospect overall, and he maintains his status as the top signal caller in the class. He’s helped the Mavericks get off to a nice start this season, as they now sit at 2-0 after defeating Campus High School in Week 2. McNew was recognized as an Offensive Game Ball winner after putting up a monster stat line in Week 1, and there’s a good chance he’ll earn more throughout the season.
No. 3: Bryson Hayes Bryson Hayes 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Maize | 2025 State KS – Maize, 6’0”, 175, WR

With all the weapons Maize has on offense, who would’ve thought that a sophomore would be their leading receiver through the first two weeks of the season? Bryson Hayes Bryson Hayes 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Maize | 2025 State KS has been on absolute fire to start his varsity career. Through two games, Hayes has hauled in five receptions for 217 yards with three scores. The speedy wideout makes his debut at No. 3 overall and he is the 2nd ranked receiver in the class.
No. 4: Koby Le Koby Le 6'1" | 240 lbs | DL Emporia | 2025 State KS – Emporia, 6’1”, 210, DL

No surprises at the No. 4 spot, as Koby Le Koby Le 6'1" | 240 lbs | DL Emporia | 2025 State KS continues to be amongst the top prospects in the class through yet another update. He’s looked solid through Emporia’s first two games, and he made an impact in their season opening win against Pittsburg. The sophomore has also impressed at right tackle. He is sure to be determined to climb the rankings in the next update.
No. 5: Julian Marks Julian Marks 6'7" | 275 lbs | DL St. Thomas Aquinas | 2025 State KS – St. Thomas Aquinas, 6’7”, 255, DL

Julian Marks Julian Marks 6'7" | 275 lbs | DL St. Thomas Aquinas | 2025 State KS was highlighted before the season started as a sophomore looking to make an impact this year, and he’s done just that through Aquinas’ first two games. His presence at defensive tackle has been a difference maker for the Saints. Marks cracks the Top 5 in this update after being a menace in his first two varsity starts. He’s batted multiple passes at the line, forced a few fumbles, and has shown off his athleticism on stunts as well. Marks could possibly earn an All-League selection if he can maintain his strong play.
