Asa Chatman
Murrieta Valley quietly has one of the best offenses in the Southern Section and is averaging over 50 points per game during its 2-1 start.
We expected the passing game to be dominant for the NightHawks as it typically is, but the running game has been excellent as well.
Chatman ran for 185 yards on 14 carries with four touchdowns in a 56-14 win over crosstown rival Murrieta Mesa.
The 185 yards and the four touchdowns are both career-highs for Chatman. Colorado State has offered him.
Corey Cheung
Corey Cheung
There are a handful of running backs in the Southern Section that are well on-pace to eclipse 1,000 yards rushing and Cheung is one of them.
Cheung had a huge game in La Canada’s 28-7 win over Santa Paula last week. He ran for an astounding 202 yards on 30 carries with three touchdowns.
He is having a fantastic season with 637 yards and 11 touchdowns in just four games.
I typically do not like to highlight a player two weeks in a row, but Robinson had a historic game this week and deserves to be acknowledged.
The UCLA commit ran for a school-record 476 yards on 32 carries with 8 touchdowns in Lincoln’s 56-20 win over Mater Dei Catholic.
The 8 touchdowns tie a San Diego Section record.
Robinson showed a lot of class after the game crediting his coaches and his offensive line.
Highlights
Jonathan Sandoval
Jonathan Sandoval
Sandoval assured that the Beckman students had a memorable homecoming experience by having a career-game running the ball in the rain.
The senior ran for a career-high 289 yards on 25 carries with two touchdowns in a 20-0 win over Calvary Chapel of Santa Ana.
The 289 yards were the most in Orange County last week and are likely a school-record for Beckman.
Eric Terrazes

Sierra Vista runs the double wing offense and is very proud of doing so. It is even part of the program’s Twitter handle.
The double wing worked in a 60-13 win over Bassett last week as Sierra Vista ran for 546 yards and seven touchdowns.
Terrazes put the team on his back with 410 yards on 16 carries with 5 touchdowns.
