DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: [player_tooltip player_id='110182' first='Chip' last='Allers'] LB 23'/[player_tooltip player_id='271376' first='Spencer' last='Elliott'] DE 23' Summit- The state's #1 LB Allers and the Storm, went head-to-head with Oregon's #1 RB [player_tooltip player_id='110209' first='Jordan' last='Fisher'], and showed what they can do. Allers made 10.5 tackles with 2.5 sacks, holding Fisher to 21 carries for 78 yards. [player_tooltip player_id='271376' first='Spencer' last='Elliott'] continues to look like a 5A POY candidate as well, playing lights out on D all year.

[player_tooltip player_id='152344' first='Hunter' last='Haines'] DB 24' /[player_tooltip player_id='270181' first='Ben' last='Winjum'] 23' LB West Linn- As projected Haines is having a 1st team all-state type season on D making 7 total tackles, with a PBU, and another INT, in the Lions 31-20 win over Jesuit. For the 2nd year in a row Winjum looks like one of the top LBs in the state, making 11 total tackles on the night.

[player_tooltip player_id='270068' first='Josh' last='Merriman'] DT 23' Sheldon- For the 2nd week in a row Merriman finds himself on this list as the D tackle has been dominant. In week 3 he had 7 total tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 tackles for loss, in the teams 41-0 shutout win over Sprague.

[player_tooltip player_id='285873' first='Kellen' last='Hicks'] DB 25' - One of the top ranked Sophomores in the state of Oregon had a clutch INT and took it 25 yards to the house, in the Mavericks 24-7 win at traditional state power Lake Oswego.

D'Marieon Gates DB/ATH 25' Jefferson- You gotta like Gates. The 5-6 140-pound athlete had the Demo's only TD, with his 50-yard INT return for a touchdown, in the Demo's 9-2 win over Roosevelt.

[player_tooltip player_id='225517' first='Jerrik' last='Wangler'] SS/WLB 25' North Salem- Another Sophomore who has a stock which just continues to rise. Wrangler has been on this list 2 of the last 3 weeks, helping to pitch a shutout over Roseburg 26-0. His 2 sacks and 1 forced fumble were key.

[player_tooltip player_id='110233' first='Darien' last='Witham'] DB/ATH 23' Thurston- The returning 1st team all-conference DB epitomizes versatility, playing 4 or 5 different positions on the field well. On Friday he returned an INT for a TD and also rushed for a touchdown in the teams 35-0 win over North Eugene.

[player_tooltip player_id='153309' first='Jackson' last='L Babbitt'] Safety/RB Springfield- For the 2nd week in a row Babbit stepped up big with 2 INTs, in the teams 33-15 win over #8 Crater. Not long ago the Millers were one of the lowest ranked 5A teams in the state, and now potentially looking to crack the top 10.

[player_tooltip player_id='383833' first='Tyler' last='Creswick'] DB 24' Putnam- We have seen Creswick on this list multiple times. One week ago, he scored 2 non offensive TDs. This past week he scored 3, returning an INT for a TD, and also scoring on a punt and kick return, in the teams 36-13 win over a really bad La Salle team.

Treyce Horton DB 23' Mazama- The #1 4A ranked Vikings blasted #2 Marist 42-7, with Horton doing a little bit of everything. He had 2 INTs, with 1 being returned for a TD. He also had 12 touches for 77 yards and a touchdown on offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='168252' first='Oliver' last='Fisher'] DE/TE 23' Sherwood- The 3* TE recruit continued to show why he is considered one of the top defensive players in the state, making 5 tackles with a sack, in the Bowmen's big 47-35 win over then #6 Lakeridge.

[player_tooltip player_id='270209' first='Drew' last='Corcoran'] DL/OL 23' Tualatin- Corcoran returns after earning all-conference honors on both sides of the ball last season, while looking extra impressive on D this year. He led the T-Wolves D with 2 tackles for loss in the teams 44-7 pasting of Wilsonville.
