PLAYER OF THE WEEK: [player_tooltip player_id='263787' first='Austin' last='Goetz'] LB 23' Tigard- Goetz has a stock which continues to sky rocket, with the #7 Tigers blasting David Douglas 48-0 to start the season. His 2 INTs for TDs were just part of the reason I had Tigard ranked in the top 10, after last years disappointing season. They have guys everywhere, including what could end up being a D1 kid in Goetz.

[player_tooltip player_id='147247' first='Earl' last='Ingle'] LB 23' West Linn- The reigning TRL defensive POY didn't waste any time backing up his accolades. He returned an INT for a TD in the Lions beat down of what was thought to be a good North Medford team. West Linn has outscored the Black Tornado 105-13 covering the last two seasons.

Mountainside D- The Mavericks dominated Roseburg 35-0, posting their first shutout in the last 26 games. The Indians were fresh off a 9-2 season, putting an exclamation point on how talented this Mountainside group could be.

[player_tooltip player_id='285856' first='Landon' last='Fay'] DE/OLB 25' McMinnville- Fay showed why he is listed as one of the state's top sophomore's in the teams 21-18 loss to Farrington HS of Honolulu, Hawaii. The Grizzlies have some talented young guys coming up with Fay projecting as a D1 kid.

[player_tooltip player_id='225517' first='Jerrik' last='Wangler'] LB 24' North Salem - Another super talented youngster who most aren't aware of. He was a big part of the impressive defensive performance for the Vikings, accounting for 2 sacks, 1 INT, and 1 fumble Recovery in the teams 35-3 win.

[player_tooltip player_id='110182' first='Chip' last='Allers'] LB 23' Summit- The overwhelming favorite for 5A POY honors did his thing, making 10 tackles to go along with 3 sacks, in the teams 19-12 loss to 6A #4 Tualatin. Allers and his guys could very well be bored playing 5A ball, as they look like a 6A semifinalist.

Noah Reese SS/LB 23' West Albany- The Bulldogs will be in the 5A title hunt. They have big names in [player_tooltip player_id='110176' first='Demarcus' last='Houston'] and [player_tooltip player_id='278367' first='Brysen' last='Kachel'], but Reese was a clutch, making 16 total tackles in West Albany's 40-14 win over Corvallis.

[player_tooltip player_id='153309' first='Jackson' last='L Babbitt'] LB/ATH 24' Springfield- Babbit made the move from Sheldon over to Springfield which at least initially looks like a good move. The 6-2 180 pound junior is listed among the top 24's in the state and showed why on Friday, returning two fumbles for TDs and rushing for over 100 yards in the teams 40-33 win over Ridgeview.

[player_tooltip player_id='147862' first='Trey' last='Dieringer'] DB 23' Scappoose- Not a lot of people are aware of the undersized Dieringer but he continues to impress. He was a difference maker on defense, helping the Indians to a 26-7 win over Gladstone, while also scoring 2 offensive TDs.

[player_tooltip player_id='383828' first='Noah' last='Holub'] LB 24' Valley Catholic- VC has some talented young guys coming up, including the 6-4 190 pound linebacker, who accounted for 5 tackles for loss and 1 fumble recovery.

[player_tooltip player_id='342013' first='Zach' last='Wusstig'] ATH 23' South Salem- Wusstig transferred from 2A Jefferson, where he would have been the state's 2A POY. He looked outstanding in the Saxons season opener on both sides of the ball, returning an INT 25 yards for a TD.
