Saturday night, two high school football teams from San Antonio took their talents to the gridiron and showed some promising potential when it comes to super stars on the offensive side of the ball. These young prospects are some of the best in the state and are looking forward to having a great 2022 football season! Without further due, let’s dive in and take a look at some offensive standouts from Saturday night’s matchup between the San Antonio Brandeis Broncos and the San Antonio Marshall Rams!
Jaden Perez Jaden Perez 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR San Antonio Brandeis | 2025 State TX : 6’1 165Ibs/WR/ Brandeis High School
Analysis: Jaden Perez Jaden Perez 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR San Antonio Brandeis | 2025 State TX is a young and upcoming star for the Brandeis Broncos. Saturday night, he showed a glimpse of what he can be in the future! Perez has really good hands and does an excellent job at getting open. He plays with physicality as well and is not afraid to run block down the field! So far he has a total of two touchdowns on the year, one rushing and one receiving with a total of 108 receiving yards, and a total of 29 rushing yards. Perez also has great speed as well clocking a 4.38, but it will only improve as he continues to train.
Johnathan Hatton Jr: 5’11 172Ibs/RB/ Brandeis High School
Analysis: Johnathan Hatton Jr is an extremely young talent on the field that has shown some promise in the years to come. The Broncos are a very young team, but they have many stars as well, and Hatton looks like he is going to be one of them. He rushed for 1 touchdown on Saturday night, and helped the broncos take down San Antonio Marshall 24-0. So far on the season he has a total of 16 rushing attempts, 142 rushing yards, and 2 total touchdowns.
Joseph Coleman: 5’10 170Ibs/RB/ Brandeis High School
Analysis: Joseph Coleman is a seasoned veteran on the Brandeis Bronco football team. He is a very powerful back and did an excellent job gaining tough yards Saturday night against San Antonio Marshall High School He scored one touchdown on the 2 yard line against the rams, and has a total of 50 rushing attempts, 188 rushing yards, and 3 touchdowns on the season! Look for him to have an excellent year this year along with his bronco teammates!
Saturday Night, the Brandeis Broncos defense held the San Antonio Marshall Rams to an astounding 0 points the entire game! Many of these players are still fairly young in their career, but they have shown they have some potential to become a force on the defensive side of the ball in the future to come! Let’s take a look, and dive in and analyze some of the best defensive players from Saturday night’s matchup.
Jacob Voss Jacob Voss 6'1" | 190 lbs | DB Louis D. Brandeis | 2024 State TX : 6’0 175Ibs/DB/ Brandeis High School
Analysis: Jacob Voss Jacob Voss 6'1" | 190 lbs | DB Louis D. Brandeis | 2024 State TX was excellent is pass coverage Saturday night. Him and the Brandeis defense held the rams to 0 points in a 24-0 shutout. He helped prevent the Marshall offense from completing pass attempts over the top and also helped when it came to stopping the run. He has a total of 1 interception on the season as well. Due to the blowout, he was taken out early!
John Williams: 6’3 230Ibs/DE/Brandeis High School
Analysis: Senior defensive end John Williams was a major factor on Saturday! He forced a fumble inside the 20 yard line, and helped that Bronco defensive line rack up multiple sacks, and stop the Marshall Ram rushing attack. Number 90 will be a key factor in helping his team win major football games! Williams does a good job at shedding blocks, as well as playing with physicality. Look for him moving forward!
Trevor Short: 6’2 185Ibs/DB/ Brandeis High School
Analysis: Trevor Short is a player to keep your eye on for the remainder of the season. He, along with his teammates, was in on many tackles, tackles for loss, and made sure the Marshall Ram rushing attack did not get going. Short did a good job locking up wide receivers, preventing the Marshall quarter back to make proper throws. Look for him to only improve as the season continues!
