This list brought a lot of newcomers to our arsenal, and we absolutely love to see it! Lets get after in North Dakota!
Clay Hovelson Clay Hovelson LB Enderlin | 2023 State , RB/LB, Maple River (2023)
Stat Line: 43 carries, 282 rushing yards, 4 touchdowns.
- Clay’s tape shows many more reps at linebacker, but this kid’s versatility from inside to the sidelines is quite impressive.
- You can tell on tape that Clay is an RB that fights for every yard he can get, which is why he blew up on Friday night for Maple River, nearing the 300-yard mark, along with the 4 touchdowns mentioned.
- Clay shows off a solid contact level that would benefit as an NAIA/Division III prospect from the linebacker spot. He needs to develop better footwork to drive into his contact at a higher rate, as most of his better tackles showed off when he developed stronger balance.
- Even when off balance, Clay shows a developed hitting ability that won’t run the ball carrier backwards, but will show off the finessive traits athletically to make a key tackle, especially around the inside and the edges.
Karsyn Jablonski Karsyn Jablonski WR Mandan | 2023 State , WR, Mandan (2023)
Stat Line: 6 receptions, 173 total yards (151 receiving, 22 rush) 2 total touchdowns.
- Karsyn, in the first 3 weeks of his tape, shows off a powerful get-off to set the tone on his routes, especially when the long ball comes his way.
- I also like Karsyn’s vision, as even when his eyes are slightly off the ball, he has the reel-in ability to still make a competitive catch despite having his head turned slightly around.
- I love this young man’s burst for the duration of his route, as he shows off great stamina that can finish his runs no matter the length of the route he is running with. Turns the corner off the ball quite smoothly from the clips I have on tape from Karsyn.
- Karsyn shows a ton of versatility with what he can do, as he can line up in motion and use all that speed on an off-tackle pitch to the outside that has the longevity to take it the distance if the defense isn’t playing their corners in a great position.
- In my eyes, certainly has the tools to play scholarship-level college football with one offer thus far from the University of Mary, and I am sure the rest of the NSIC will keep their tabs on this kid with the stellar season he is having for the Mandan Braves.
Mason Klabo Mason Klabo 6'0" | QB Fargo Davies | 2025 State ND , QB, Fargo Davies (2025)
- Mason’s athletic ability between the tackles on the run is exceptional, and it’s easy to see why he will be one of our top 2025 prospects once the 2025 full rankings are released after the season’s end.
- He gets the ball out quickly with his release, and his tape against Bismarck shows a fearless demeanor to stay inside the pocket as well and accept pressure without giving up the poise factor he has to his game as already an accomplished two-year starter for the Fargo Davies Eagles.
- He has a loaded arm with his deep ball and can use that athletic ability to build more comfort, throwing the football slightly outside of the pocket with the quick reactive instincts he brings to the table.
- Mason also shows off some solid touch on his intermediate routes, especially one of the last throws you see on his tape against Bismarck last Friday night in Fargo. Going to be one I will be tracking heavily this season up until the release of the 2025 rankings.
Ronan Klindworth, DB, Beulah (2024)
Stat Line: 3 total tackles, 2 interceptions, one fumble recovered.
- Ronan doesn’t have any defensive tape to show off (yet). However, you can tell when watching some of his offensive tape from earlier this season that Ronan has that quick instinct to turn on the jets; I am sure when approaching a pass-catcher based on how fast his speed turns up when he uses his vision to identify the play at hand as he logged two interceptions in the Beulah Miners big 36-8 win against Heart River last week.
Zach Lilly, LB, Fargo Davies (2024)
- Zach might have the very limited tape of his junior season for the Fargo Davies Eagles, but I love this kid’s vision and patience when he hits the inside gaps provided by the well-put-together Eagles offensive line, as his rep against powerful West Fargo Sheyenne showed a lot of potential as we at Prep Redzone Dakotas hope to evaluate more tape from Zach as we enter deeper into the season in 11AA.
Brock Norton, RB, New Salem-Almont (2025)
Stat Line: 21 carries, 287 rushing yards, two touchdowns
- Although just a sophomore, Brock runs with a ton of durability inside the tackles and can bounce to the outside with solidity in his finished north-south running ability.
- I like watching Brock on his first cut on his light tape, as he has the swift ability to turn his hips with a sound amount of change of direction.
- As he’s only a sophomore, I would love to see Brock develop better balance in his lower body as I think there is a ton of strides this young man over time with a few years left with the Holsteins program. However, it is clear that Brock has grown ALREADY this season on that balance in the Holstein’s wins over a ranked North Border squad last week.
- Look for Brock on our upcoming 2025 rankings after the season, as I believe he has a lot of potential to grow with over the next few seasons as a college prospect in my eyes.
Brennan Palmer Brennan Palmer 6'4" | 240 lbs | DL Fargo Davies | 2023 State , DL/OL, Fargo Davies (2023)
- I must say, when I deserved Brennan at the SDSU prospect camp last summer, the hella strides this young man has made in a little over a year at the defensive end position are monstrous.
- Where he has grown on tape? Brennan has a lot more feisty moves in his arsenal than when I watched what was a 180-pound DE at SDSU, as this now North Dakota State commit shows a significant get-off-the-ball speed and now is able to use it on both sides of the Fargo Davies offensive line as he’s extremely quick with his striking ability.
- His offensive line tape shows excellent instincts when he advances. into the second level, even when he doesn’t have a pure contact level, he shows off just enough leverage to maneuver the defender out of the running back’s path.
- He’s also grown with his stance, as his athletic now 6’3 245-pound build shows great structure off the line as far as these eyes can see. He also has a developing reach for the ball carrier that that lengthy frame that will likely add plenty of more physicality once he steps on campus at North Dakota State.
