Check out who passed the eye test on Friday night for the Bruins!
Emanuel Spiyee Emanuel Spiyee 6'1" | 170 lbs | DB Fargo South | 2023 State , WR/DB, Fargo South (2023)
- Emanuel showed off probably the best skillsets on both sides of the ball on Friday night for the Fargo South Bruins, from my eyes.
- At 6’1 175 pounds, Emanuel showed off a WR that had a willingness to fight continuously for extra yards and put his durability to the test all game long, and showed excellent effort throughout.
- Emanuel showed off the fastest trigger in the Bruin’s secondary by getting to the first level and engaging heavily on first contact and could also be found throwing the wide receiver slightly off balance enough with his contact level.
- As a pass-catcher, he showed off that when he was given a small window of opportunity, he could pay off dividends in the passing game, especially on his shorter routes which was the bread and butter of the passes that were completed on Friday night for the Bruins.
- I could certainly see Emanuel being a sound D3/NAIA prospect at the next level.
Cole Kegbeh Cole Kegbeh DL Fargo South | 2024 State , DL, Fargo South (2024)
- Cole was one of the most intriguing prospects from the Bruins that I looked forward to watching get some live reps on Friday night in Fargo.
- Cole showed off that long reach that I have seen on tape from him, and I always enjoy it when a live evaluation matches a tape eval.
- Those long arms showed off well against a strong offensive line, as he showed his mobility with his 6’3 200 pound frame on a consistent basis against the Deacons.
- Especially in the first half, Cole showed an agile presence by keeping up with the Deacon’s ball carriers inside and got his name called a handful of times for his playmaking; the Deacons resort to the passing game due to some of Cole’s efforts.
- Ranked as the #2 DE in the Dakotas and #33 overall. I think there is a lot of potential over the next several years to see out of this kid.
Tyler Christianson, DL, Fargo South (2023)
- I thought Tyler showed off the most elusive motor when watching the Fargo South Bruins defensive line overall in his 6’0 225-pound frame.
- He showed off the stamina to compete with the run game when the Deacons went to the edges, and Tyler was a supplier of a handful of stops not just inside but around the edges, as mentioned.
- Tyler showed a competitive nature of change of speed when he turned the corner on his tape, as I think achieving a stronger get-off will help Tyler in the long run when you watch his tape.
- He shows off the skills to be a nice local NAIA/D3 prospect in the making that could put together a booming senior season.
Jerry Gibson Jerry Gibson 5'9" | 160 lbs | ATH Fargo South | 2024 State ND , DB, Fargo South (2024)
- Jerry showed off good patience in the reps I got to watch from him last Friday and shows off a DB prospect that plays with a competitive chip on his shoulder.
- I liked how he battled against a WR with 8 inches on him, as he kept his positioning balanced even from the back of the WR to show off physicality, enough to set the wide receiver off balance but not enough to draw a penalty like so many smaller defensive backs like to get overly handsy when there is a mismatch like that.
- Watching some recent tape on Jerry, there is a lot to like to play at the next level as a defensive back, as he has that instinctive snap-back burst to get to the ball quickly even when he’s crept away from it for just a few seconds and still cause some problems in the pass-catchers wheelhouse.
