It was definitely a good weekend for the likes of Elk River, Prior Lake, Forest Lake, Minneapolis North, St. Paul Harding, Becker, Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton, Chanhassen, and Alexandria, who, along with more teams from all over the state, earned big wins under Friday Night Lights and roll into this week with some momentum and good things building. To cure some of the Monday blues and give our lovely Minnesota subscribers some good reading during MNF, PrepRedzoneMN is back again with our Top-25 performances of Week 2/3. #1: Max Shikenjanski Max Shikenjanski 6'2" | 160 lbs | ATH Stillwater | 2023 State MN (Stillwater) QB. 2023. Against East Ridge, went 26-38 (68.4%) for 346 yards and 4 TDs through the air. Also added 8 rushes for 54 yards and a TD in what resulted in a 45-17 win.
#2: Cade Bruett Cade Bruett 6'3" | 215 lbs | QB Delano | 2023 State MN (Delano) QB. 2023. In a tough, one-score loss to Becker, Bruett 17-22 for 291 yards and 4 TDs. He holds an 81% completion percentage through three games!
#3: Maxwell Woods Maxwell Woods 5'11" | 180 lbs | RB Chanhassen | 2024 State MN (Chanhassen) RB. 2024. In the massive rivalry that is Chaska-Chan the junior totaled 23 carries for 169 yards, a catch for 15 yards, 110 return yards, a PBU, and a forced fumble! Chan got the W.
#4: Hank Tellers (Sebeka) QB. 2023. The small-school 2022 stat monster rushed 21 times for 240 yards and 5 TDs and completed one pass for 33 yards. Also added 13 tackles and one TFL on defense!
#5: Max McEnelly Max McEnelly 5'10" | 205 lbs | ATH Waconia | 2023 State MN (Waconia) RB. 2023. The Gopher wrestling commit was a big help in Waconia‘s dismantling of Robbinsdale Cooper and put up a workhorse stat line of 38 rushes for 260 yards and 4 TDs and added 9 tackles on defense.
#6: Will Smith (Minneapolis North) RB/DE. 2023. – Rushed 21 times for 247 yards and 4 TDs in a big win against 4A Fridley.
#7: Grant Loge Grant Loge 6'5" | 185 lbs | QB Pequot Lakes | 2023 State MN (Pequot Lakes) QB. 2023. – Went 24-39 through the air for 359 yards and 5 TDs against DGF.
#8: Corey Bohmert (Mahtomedi) RB/DB. 2023. In a 33-17 win versus Cretin-Derham Hall the Maht 2023er ran 17 times for 225 yards and 5 TDs.
#9: AJ Boarman AJ Boarman 6'4" | 185 lbs | QB Holy Angels | 2023 State MN (Holy Angels) QB. 2023. In a win versus Orono the senior went 11-15 through the air for 208 yards and 2 TDs and rushed 14 times for 146 yards and 2 more TDs. Stars are 2-0.
#10: KhiJohnn Cummings-Coleman KhiJohnn Cummings-Coleman 5'11" | 180 lbs | WR Coon Rapids | 2024 State MN (Coon Rapids) WR. 2024. One of the breakouts of this 2022 thus far, KCC caught 11 passes for 286 yards and 2 TDs in a win against Buffalo.
#11: Stefano Giovannelli Stefano Giovannelli 6'2" | 175 lbs | WR St. Louis Park | 2023 State MN (St. Louis Park) WR/DB. 2023. The Preseason All-State pick helped his SLP squad beat Bloomington Jefferson by catching 2 passes for 14 yards, 3 tackles, and 3 interceptions – two of which he took the house.
#12: Tate Link Tate Link 5'9" | 195 lbs | RB Dassel Cokato | 2023 State MN (Dassel-Cokato) RB/LB. 2023. – In a 35-6 win over Little Falls the stud wrestler rushed 26 times for 268 yards and 4 TDs and added a FF defensively.
#13: Owen Louwagie Owen Louwagie 5'11" | 165 lbs | QB Lakeview | 2023 State MN (Lakeview) QB. 2023. Threw at an 85% completion percentage for 222 passing yards and 5 total TDs against RTR.
#14: Josh Diggs Josh Diggs 6'0" | 205 lbs | RB Park Center | 2025 State MN (Park Center) RB. 2025. In a 40-23 win over Delasalle the sophomore rushed 27 times for 212 yards and 3 TDs + a 2pt conversion. The Pirates play Mound-Westonka next week.
#15: Carson Hansen Carson Hansen 6'1" | 200 lbs | RB Lakeville South | 2023 State MN (Lakeville South) RB. 2023. The Iowa State commit put a beatdown on crosstown rival Lakeville North and rushed 21 times for 254 and 2 TDs, including a 90+yarder. South got the win and heads to Eden Prairie in a big 6A matchup this weekend.
#16: Bart McAninch Bart McAninch 6'1" | 210 lbs | QB Mankato West | 2024 State MN (Mankato West) QB. 2024. In a beatdown of New Prague the junior signal-caller went 13-18 for 228 yards and 4 TDs.
#17: Cooper Drews Cooper Drews 6'4" | 205 lbs | QB Princeton | 2023 State MN (Princeton) QB. 2023. Threw for 2 TDs and picked off two passes as a XL safety as Princeton beat Zimmerman 17-6.
#18: Brooklyn Evans (Eagan) QB. 2025. Another sophomore, Evans had a good game against Park of Cottage Grove and rushed 7 times for 93 yards and 4 TDs in a victory.
#19: Tanner Schmidt (Stillwater) WR. 2024. Aided in his aforementioned QB’s big night and tallied 8 catches for 153 yards and 2 TDs in a win against East Ridge.
#20: Peyton Himley Peyton Himley 6'2" | 180 lbs | DB Edina | 2023 State MN (Edina) DB/WR. 2023. Had a strong defensive showing against Rosemount and posted 10 tackles, 2 PBUs, a TFL, a FF, and an interception. The Hornets lost by seven.
#21: Eli Paulson (Anoka) WR. 2023. The state’s leader in receptions, Anoka’s Paulson caught 11 passes for 160 yards and 2 TDs. Anoka suffered a tough loss to Forest Lake but is looking to bounce back against Burnsville!
#22: Jackson Hettwer (Coon Rapids) QB. 2024. In a win against Buffalo that ended 28-14. the junior gunslinger went 16-26 for 337 yards and 3 TDs.
#23: AJ Ladwig (Hutchinson) RB. 2023. In a throttling of Willmar, Ladwig rushed 11 times for 169 yards and 3 TDs in an efficient night. Also added 8 tackles!
#24: Kelly Johnson Kelly Johnson 5'11" | 175 lbs | WR Alexandria | 2023 State MN (Alexandria) WR. 2023. In a numbing 41-38 nail-biter over Bemidji, Johnson stood in well for the graduated Kristen Hoskins and caught 12 passes for 140 yards and 2 TDs. Also added two, 2pt conversions.
#25: Asher Zubich Asher Zubich 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Mountain Iron-Buhl | 2023 State MN (Mountain Iron-Buhl) QB. 2023. In a 44-0 win against Ogilvie, the stat-monster went 8-11 through the air for 78 yards and added 16 rushes for 214 yards and 3 TDs with his legs. Capped it off with four tackles, two interceptions, one of those he returned for a TD!
