Earlier today, we looked at key matchups in week six for Districts 3-6 and now we'll take a look at districts 7-10. A lot of intriguing matchups this week on the western side of Pennsylvania but we ultimately landed on these games.

Thomas Jefferson (3-2) vs Laurel Highlands (3-2)

Thomas Jefferson suffered their second loss of the season last week against Bell-Vernon but remains undefeated in conference play. Laurel Highlands will look to change that on Friday night as they look to grab their second-straight win after a 10-7 win over Greater Latrobe last weekend. Thomas Jefferson is 1-0 in conference play this year while Laurel Highland is 0-1, a loss on Friday would be a tough setback for the Mustangs and their postseason hopes.

DuBois (4-1) vs Punxsutawney (2-3)

DuBois will look to stay at the top of District 9 Region 1 standings on Friday as they take on Punxsutawney. The Beavers have won two straight since a 41-7 loss to Clearfield and still appear to be one of the top teams overall in District 9. Punxsutawney on the other hand will look to stop a three-game slide after starting the season 2-0.

Mercyhurst Prep (3-2) vs Eisenhower (5-0)

Eisenhower is one of the top surprise teams out in District 10 and will look to continue their success on Friday night against Mercyhurst Prep. The Lakers started off the season slowly at 0-2 but have won three straight games including a 47-14 win over Franklin last weekend. Eisenhower, on the other hand, has dominated in each of their five wins this season, their smallest win being by just 12 points over Seneca. All four other victories have been by 41, 35, 13, and 22 points.

Meadville (5-0) vs Oil City (4-1)

Can the Ethan Knox train continue to roll against Meadville? We'll find that out on Friday night. The 2024 tailback has already totaled 2,000 rushing yards this season through five games. He of course will be chasing down the record of former South Williamsport standout Dominick Bragalone who rushed for 4,362 yards in 2014. Oil City's success running the ball shouldn't be shocking as in 2018, their tailback Christian Cole (now at Clarion) rushed for 3,252 yards. Meadville will look to stay undefeated but their defense will surely be tested this weekend. The Bulldogs have outscored their opponents 255-27 through five games this season.
