Hamilton @ Bishop Gorman

In a rematch of the wildest high school football game I've ever seen from year ago, Hamilton will have a huge test once again this year, this week against nationally ranked #7 Bishop Gorman (Maxpreps). [player_tooltip player_id='214124' first='Roch' last='Cholowsky'] will be touted with his toughest opponent of his career this Friday night as he'll try to dice up a crazy impressive Bishop Gorman defense which includes former Basha standout [player_tooltip player_id='214071' first='Jeremiah' last='Vessel']. Hamilton comes off a week 1 win over Centennial while Bishop Gorman enters the contest 2-1 with wins over Corner Canyon and St. Louis, with a close 24-21 loss at Mater Dei.

Pinnacle @ Liberty

Pinnacle comes off a very impressive 43-6 blowout win over El Camino last week in California. Pinnacle hasn't really gotten the respect they deserve in the preseason, but with a statement win last week, all eyes should be on Pinnacle as they face one of their biggest challanges this season at Liberty. Liberty comes off a 50-0 blowout win vs Sunrise Mountain and is stacked with talent with the potential to make a run at an open division state championship here in 2022. Overall, a very intriguing matchup that will probably impact playoff seedings regarding open division and 6A.

Brophy @ Centennial

Both teams come off a week 1 loss to start 2022. Brophy dropped their opener 10-24 at O'Connor last week, while Centennial lost at Hamilton 14-38. Although both teams come off a loss, they project to come in with a mean streak and play with a chip on their shoulder, espcially Brophy given their strength of region and schedule. Brophy is going to have to have some young guys step up in a big atmosphere, while Centennial will rely on senior RB [player_tooltip player_id='42899' first='Kavaughn' last='Clark'] to get it done offensively.

Blue Ridge @ Coconino

Blue Ridge will head into the contest 1-1 with a close loss vs Payson and a win over St. Johns lost week. Coconino has yet to play given that their "bye" week was the first week of the season, but they have some notbale prospects that look to match up well against Blue Ridge. Blue Ridge's run heavy offense will be interesting as Coco's top 2023 LB [player_tooltip player_id='165907' first='Pierson' last='Watson'] will have himself a busy night with a crucial role. His younger brother [player_tooltip player_id='115518' first='Enoch' last='Watson'] will have a big opportunity to show the state what he's all about in efforts to get off to a 1-0 start.

Lake Havasu @ Mohave

This is going to be an interesting one. Lake Havasu entrs the contest 1-0 with a 38-20 win over Lee Williams last week. Mohave enters the contest 1-1 with a blowout 60-6 win over Yuma and a blowout 14-51 loss against Pusch Ridge last week. Both teams have some electifying players such as Havasu's [player_tooltip player_id='110085' first='Isaac' last='Stopke'] and Mohave's [player_tooltip player_id='169406' first='Jonathan' last='Williams']. Both have proven to be game changers, so this game has all the potential to become a shootout type of game with two gritty schools.
