He was patient and showed a lot of poise in the pocket, he made good decisions to either tuck and run or throw. He was a physical runner when he ran the ball and gained about three more yards a carry just by running through tacklers. Defensively, he was a good last line of defense in the pass and run game. He made TD saving tackles and pass breakups.

'24 RB/DB- Mick Dailey made some big plays on offense and defense. He ran the ball hard through the gaps his line opened up. He made some big runs getting out to the perimeter quickly and making a good cut to find the open space, he ran through tacklers as well to gain more yards. He threw a couple accurate TD passes when the defense keyed on him. Defensively, he was good in pass coverage on the slots and was a good tackler.

'23 RB/DB- Jagger Tyler was good in pass coverage, both vertical and short game routes. He ran step-for-step with his receivers and had good technique when the ball is in the air. He was also good in run support, coming up and making tackles from the secondary. He read his keys and reacted to fill his gap quickly and always made the tackle. He was a physical runner as well, breaking off some big runs when the offense needed some yards. He was a good target out of the backfield for a safety valve.

Offensive Line- August Anderson, Carson Podhradsky, Camen Max, Connor Degen, & Tommy Jones all kept the ball moving down the field all game long. They really drove the defense off the ball each time they wanted to run the ball, opening wide gaps for the backs out of the backfield, really grinding out the defense. They also gave the QB plenty of time to make decisions passing and making blocks for him to run through when he needed to. They climbed levels quickly and made good blocks downfield.

Players Highlighted from Sturgis:

'23 RB/LB- Gunnar Rohloff had a great game running the football for the Scooper offense. He was a physical runner, but would take the defense by surprise by being shifty. He had good vision to add to his agility, making the big cut to get into open space and breaking off the big run. He was strong enough to muscle through arm tackles and balance to keep the wheels turning and finishing the run. He had excellent breakaway speed to bust off the big play.

'24 WR/DB- [player_tooltip player_id='294145' first='Tyan' last='Buus'] was a catalyst for the offense when they needed a play. He ran good routes and got himself open and reeled in some nice passes. He had tremendous focus catching the ball in traffic, braced himself for a hit and hung on to the ball. He ran the ball with power, always falling forward to end his runs. He was vital in the return game as well, really giving the offense good starting field position.

'23 WR/LB- Reese Jacobs did his job really well at his position. He read his keys, stayed home and stepped up and made a play in his gap. His tackling form put him in good position to force fumbles. He broke down and really put his shoulder pad into the runner, wrapping up and driving through the ballcarrier to finish the play. He was a good target out of the backfield and in the slot. He did a good job finding the soft spot in the defense and getting yards after the catch.

'23 QB- [player_tooltip player_id='160904' first='Owen' last='Cass'] showed poise under pressure and escaped the pocket well to buy time. His mobility game him chance to extend plays and give the receivers a chance to get open. His speed helped him break off runs to get big first downs to keep the offense on the field. He placed a good deep ball with a lot of touch down the sideline. He also did a good job flipping the field when punting the ball.

'23 OL/DL- [player_tooltip player_id='89281' first='Zak' last='Juelfs'] showed a lot of good footwork and hand technique on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he moved his feet well and got himself in good position to make a clean block. He kept his QB upright in pass protection, keeping the defense away and picking up blitzes. In the run game, he climbed levels well and got to a good position to make blocks downfield. Defensively, he was quick off the ball, took a good angle off the edge, fought off his blocker and put pressure on the offense as a whole.
