Fairfield had a tough night versus a talented Princeton team. In spite of the final result of the game there were some Fairfield Indian players who really stuck out to me. Today I highlight those players.

DE [player_tooltip player_id='458856' first='Aamir' last='Rogers'] (2023) 6'6 230- Rogers was a revelation to me. I hadn't come across him before and and honestly I'm not sure how. At 6'5 235 pounds, Rogers has an exceptionally long frame. He shows good and plus athleticism. He made a play in the game where he didn't get enough push to affect the QB, so he leaped high in the air to bat a pass. He has the speed to get to the edge. As he gets stronger he'll be able to play through the the blocker. Rogers is definitely someone I will be keeping a close eye on for the rest of this season. Right now he is totally flying under the radar. It's time for schools to take notice.

Jordan Jackson

RB [player_tooltip player_id='380208' first='Jordan' last='Jackson'] (2023) 5'11 180- Jackson only had 50 rushing yards on the night, but there were still some plays where you could see why the West Virginia commit is so highly thought of by the Mountaineers. Jackson shows good vision and does a great job of one cutting and getting upfield. He has a nice jump cut that proved elusive. Despite being only 180 pounds he looked very comfortable running between the tackles and in traffic and can not only take the hits, but dish them out. He will need to continue to add weight and strength, but that should be no issue as he get's on a D1 P5 strength and Condition and training table.

QB [player_tooltip player_id='284603' first='Talon' last='Fisher'] (2024) 6'1 200- Since Talon has started since he was a freshman, it seems that he has been playing for years and years. Talon has a great grasp of running Fairfield's offense. He accounted for almost 250 yards of total offense. He did a great job of executing the run game and selling fakes in the play-action game. Where Talon really excels is when things break down. There were numerous times where the play had broken down and he was being chased and he somehow manage to escape and get a first down, or turn a loss into a small gain. The lefty also showed he can make throws on the run, throwing seeds after getting waggling out or being flushed out of the pocket. His ability to pull the ball and run forces defenses to stay honest. He's sturdily built to take the hits a QB will take at times in the run game.

Josiah Jackson

DB [player_tooltip player_id='189554' first='Josiah' last='Jackson'] (2023) 6'1 175- Josiah is the twin brother of Jordan, and is also committed to West Virginia. Jackson is a long cornerback who does a great job of using his length to his advantage. He has feet and hips that he uses to mirror receivers. When the ball arrives he does a great job of playing the ball and not the man. He shows good attention to detail and technique both pre and post snap. Like Jordan, as he continues to add weight and strength Josiah is really going to take his career to the next level. Josiah has a bright future ahead of him.

[player_tooltip player_id='458857' first='Mike' last='Figgins']

DT James Thomas Jr. (2023) 6'5 290- It was my first time seeing Thomas in person. He moves extremely well for an athlete his size. There were a few plays where he was able to get penetration and make plays. He's also a two gap space eater, that can stall a run game. He has the length to keep blockers at bay and shed and make plays. He needs to keep getting stronger, but as he does he has a chance to be a disruptive force at the next level.

WR [player_tooltip player_id='458857' first='Mike' last='Figgins'] Jr. (2023) 5'10 160- Figgins is a good looking slot receiver. He really understands the nuances of route running, creating separation. He also has a good feel for when to sit down in zones. Once he gets the ball in his hands he has the quickness and acceleration to turn it into a big play. He's also used on jet sweeps where he does a good job of using his blockers and has a definite make you miss ability to get the ball upfield and get yards.

[player_tooltip player_id='380258' first='Ray' last='Coney']

WR Noah King (2025) 6'2 180- King is a young wide receiver with really good height and length. He got behind Princeton's defense a few times on the night. What I like most about King is his ability to win 50/50 balls. He did a great job of high pointing the football and using his hands and strength to bring it down. As he continues to fill out and get stronger, I'm very interested to see how his game develops and evolves.

LB [player_tooltip player_id='380258' first='Ray' last='Coney'] (2023) 6'2 200- Coney was flying around the field all night. He is decisive in his read and react and fires quickly. He does a great job of breaking down and making open field tackles. He can bring the boom as well. He has the hips and footwork to turn and run and to cover in space as well. Simply put Coney is a football player, who's fundamentally sound and makes plays.

Fairfield had a tough night versus a talented Princeton team. In spite of the final result of the game there were some Fairfield Indian players who really stuck out to me. Today I highlight those players.
