At the beginning of the game, Clear Fall took the lead in the 1st quarter with two quick touchdowns. However, before the second half, Lamar was able to catch back up by scoring two touchdowns themselves. Then during the second half, the game went back and forth leading to the 1st overtime I have seen this season. It was a hard-fought battle between both teams, but Clear Fall was able to kick a field goal attaining victory with a final score of 31-28. Everyone on both the offense and defense side of the ball for Clear Fall had an amazing game I will be discussing the main standouts.
Clear Fall Offense
#1 Marquis Tarver RB Sr
Marquis Tarver is an interesting player to watch. Marquis despite his shape and size is quick on his feet and has an explosive run. Marquis is a master of bursting through the hole and trucking through any defender. I will say Marquis’s forte is running through the middle and fighting for every single yard, but running wide and vertical wasn’t the best way to utilize him. Marquis finished the night by running in one touchdown.
#3 Landon Vessel Qb Jr 6’2 185 lbs
Clear Falls’ new starting quarterback Landon Vessel already fits in the offense. Landon is an accurate quarterback when he has time to plant his feet and throw. Unfortunately, I would have liked to see Landon with better support in an offensive line. Landon a good amount of the time was pressured and blindsided but was still able to overcome that and make great plays. Landon had an impressive night throwing for three touchdown passes and running in one touchdown himself.
#15 Dylan Proctor WR So 5’7 150 lbs
Dylan Proctor is a new addition to the wide receiver core this season for Clear Fall and is already making a name for himself. Dylan plays slot receiver and with his small size and stature, he is incredibly fast. I looked at some of Dylan’s camp stats before the game and apparently, he runs a 4.5 40-yard dash. And watching Dylan this past Friday those stats do not lie. When Dylan beefs up and puts on more muscle he will be more of a terrifying threat. Dylan ended the night with one receiving touchdown.
Clear Fall Defense
#25 Trayvon Summe DB Sr
Trayvon Summe throughout the game made a lot of notable stops and stopped receivers from catching the ball. However, I want to discuss Trayvon’s game-changing play that might have kept Clear Falls Knight in the game. Trayvon snagged an interception that would of put Lamar in range to score. If Trayvon did not catch this interception Clear Falls would not have the chance to overcome Lamar in overtime.
