Kings is currently undefeated at 4-0 and have averaged 45.5 points per game on offense while giving up 5.75 points per game on defense. Milford is also currently undefeated at 4-0 as well. They have averaged 44.75 points per game on offense and have given up 28.25 points per game on defense. There are several talented players on both teams and here are five players to keep an eye on during the game.
Nick Hoying
Nick Hoying
Nick plays as an OLB. Against the run, he uses his elite play strength and use of hands to deliver a powerful punch to the frame of the OT sending him to the ground. He takes good angles in pursuit before delivering a big hit for the tackle preventing a gain of significant yardage. Against the pass, he shows excellent burst as he quickly penetrates the LOS. He effectively uses his great closing speed in pursuit before finishing up with a sack.
Will Kocher
Will Kocher
He does a good job of reading the coverage and quickly finds the open receiver. He delivers the ball with great accuracy and touch on short intermediate and deep passes. He also does a great job of delivering an accurate ball while on the move. He displays very good mobility as he shows very good elusiveness in the open field to avoid tackles from LB and DB. He then uses his very good play speed to outrun all defenders and score on a long touchdown run.
Justin Berg
Justin Berg
Justin plays as a DE and DT. Against the run, he fires out low and shows excellent lateral quickness and agility taking a quick 1st step as he penetrates the LOS. He quickly locates the RB and makes the tackle in the backfield for a TFL. Against the pass, he uses his great play strength to defeat the block. He displays excellent range as he makes the tackle on WR on screen plays before any yardage is gained. He also does an excellent job of getting his hands in the way to deflect the pass.
Avery Faulkner
Avery Faulkner
Avery plays as a Safety. Against the run, he quickly reads and reacts to the play. He plays with good leverage and delivers a good form tackle preventing a first down. Against the pass, he shows good awareness in zone coverage and patrols his zone while keeping his eyes on the QB. He displays very good closing speed and range before making a tackle on the WR preventing a big gain. In off man coverage his does a good job of keeping everything in front of him and prevents the WR from getting open.
Owen DeHanes
Owen DeHanes
Owen plays as a LT. While run blocking, he takes a quick first step laterally on a zone block and uses his very good play strength to generate movement at the point of attack against the DL before creating a big hole for the RB on a touchdown run. In pass pro, he does a good job of keeping his feet moving and uses his hands and play strength effectively to negate the progress of the DE giving the QB a clean pocket to pass from.
