It was a rainy night on the sidelines watching the Vashon Wolverines visit the Cardinal Ritter Lions this past Friday night, but that did not deter both teams from attempting to open up their offenses, and utilize their big time players each had. Ritter was just too deep and too talented for the Vashon Wolverines to overcome as the Lions controlled the game to a 29-7 win. Here is a look at the top offensive prospects on each team I witnessed.

CARDINAL RITTER

[player_tooltip player_id='37669' first='Fredrick' last='Moore'] | 2023 | 6'1" | WR |

The University of Michigan commit showed his terrific big play receiving ability with two TD receptions of 56 and 20 yards on the night, while finishing the game with 6 catches total for 128 yards for a 21.3 yard per catch average. Moore is a smooth route runner with very good speed who has an extra gear to get separation from defenders and make catches in full stride. He's quick and elusive with the ability to make defenders miss and pick up yards after the catch. Great hands and concentration with the ability to make grabs in traffic. He is also a solid blocker on run plays and battles his opponent to the whistle. Fredrick is also a big play threat on special teams in kickoff and punt returns. The Michigan Wolverines got a good one.

[player_tooltip player_id='157991' first='Ryan' last='Boyd'] | 2023 | 6'0" | WR |

The Lions also have another D1 receiver prospect in the tough and reliably sure-handed Boyd, who transferred to Ritter from East St. Louis for his senior year. Ryan was impressive with physical development, strength and his ability to make tough catches in the middle of the field in traffic and hold on to the ball after the hits showing strong hands. Another very good route runner who seems to always be open. He has good speed, quickness and the ability to find the open spot on the field. A tremendously unselfish team player who goes to work and does his job well blocking on run plays and doing the little things well to help his teammates and team. Body has several early D1 offer from schools including UCONN.

[player_tooltip player_id='130163' first='Antwon' last='McKay'] | 2024 | 6'2" | QB |

I thought McKay was the Lions best QB prospect last year as a sophomore, and he has elevated his game heading into his junior season. Antwon has an impressive night hitting 14 of 25 attempts for 264 yards and 2 TDs in a heavy on and off rain for the entire game. He displayed very good touch and accuracy on his short, intermediate and especially his long passes. He has a good ability to hit his receivers in stride on deep balls with good timing, a strong arm and impressive accuracy. McKay also has the wheels to make plays happen with his legs, as he scored on a nice 12 yard run though he is more of a traditional QB. He showed good leadership and knowledge running his offense. He was focused and saw the field and distributed the ball well in hitting four different receivers with two or more receptions.

Marvin Burks | 2023 | 6'2" | RB |

The big-time S prospect Burks is pulling double-duty playing on both sides of the ball this season, including as the Lions starting running back, and has been impressive when I saw him in action both at practice and in this game against Vashon. He looks like he could be capable of playing the position on the next level if the opportunity arose. A tremendous overall athlete, Burks seemed a natural toting the rock for his team carrying the ball 14 times for 136 yards and a 9.1 yard per carry average. He was a tough, physical runner between the tackles but also utilized his speed and quickness on the outside, and had some nice wiggle to avoid tackles. Although he clearly likes to deliver the hit and punish would be defenders attempting to tackle him. He told me that he hasnt played running back since youth football but is happy to take on the added role for his team. A heavily recruited defensive back prospect, Burks has listed his final 5 teams as Oklahoma, LSU, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Missouri.

[player_tooltip player_id='104129' first='Dallas' last='Winner-Johnson'] | 2023 | 6'5" | TE/WR |

While he only had two catches on the night, Winner-Johnson is a big target who can really run and requires opposing teams to really pay attention to him. He makes it so defenses can't just focus on a main receiving threat. Dallas had to sit out most of last year due to transfer rules, but had a really good off-season in 7v7 with Elite Speed, and is ready to showcase his ability that has already led to a few D1 offers coming his way. He has very good hands and can be utilized inside or out with his speed and ability to get downfield. He's also a good red zone target with his size and hands. Look for him to become more involved in the offense as the season goes on. He's also a solid blocker on run plays.

[player_tooltip player_id='188604' first='Keon' last='Sloan'] | 2025 | 6'0" | RB/WR |

The surprise of the night for me was seeing the ability of the sophomore Sloan at running back. I've scouting Keon since middle school a receiver, and invited him to the Elite Football combine as a middle schooler, where he showed impressive speed and athleticism despite his young age. On Friday night he showed impressive skills as a running back at 195lbs. He ran hard, was very physical, used his speed and quickness, had good feet and looked like a natural as a running back finishing with 81 yards on 4 carries, including and impressive 34 yard TD run. Though he is still a very good receiver, I really liked what I saw of him at RB and feel as though he is more then capable of playing that position on the next level too.

VASHON

[player_tooltip player_id='201724' first='Dierre' last='Hill'] | 2025 | 6'0" | RB |

The super talented Hill, who has D1 offers in football and recently picked up a D1 basketball offer from Missouri, is Mr. Everything for the Wolverines both on offensive, defense and special teams. Dierre burst on the scene as a freshman last year and started picking up D1 football offers after showing his athleticism and big play playmaking ability on both sides of the ball. On Friday, Hill showed flashes of that ability and talent which has made him a highly coveted prospect by colleges, despite the fact that he was a marked man all night. It was clear that the Lions game plan was to stop him to stop the Wolverines. Hill is a fast, quick twitch athlete with great vision and feet. He is equally good running the ball at RB or lined up at receiver in his effectiveness. He has good hands and runs hard with the ball and after the catch with really good stop/start and acceleration skills. He showed his toughness fighting against gang tackles all night and fighting for each yard he was able to get. Dierre is also a weapon on special teams in kick off and punt returns. He is also a top flight DB at safety.

[player_tooltip player_id='392806' first='Jonah' last='Logan'] | 2024 | 6'10" | OT |

An absolute mountain of a young man at his height and weighing 340lbs, but with surprising athleticism. What stood out to me most besides his height, long arms and size of his feet, was how quick his feet were and how well he moved. He did a nice job handling smaller, quicker DEs on pass pro and did a nice job getting push and holding blocks on run plays, showing an ability to block downfield. While he is still raw and learning his position, you can see where he has all the tools you'd look for on the D1 level at the position to work with and develop. It's no wonder Arkansas and Arkansas State have extended early offers to him.

[player_tooltip player_id='177543' first='Malious' last='Cain'] | 2023 | 6'4" | QB |

Cain didn't get a lot of time on the night to set up and find open men as the Lions defense swarmed and did a great job in pass coverage limiting his options. He was able to complete 50% of his 16 pass attempts for 87 yards, and ran for 16 more. Mal is a tall signal-caller with a good arm and has shown pretty good accuracy in the past couple of years I've watched him. He sees the field well, does a solid job accessing defenses, and when given time can put up big numbers through the air.

Zach Smith | 2024 | 5'11" | WR |

An under-valued prospect both as a receiver and defensive back for the Wolverines, Smith led his team in catches and yards on the night with 4 catches for 61 yards averaging 15.2 per catch. Yards did not come easy and he took a pounding from defenders for each one he earned. Zach has good ball skills, and does a nice job managing to find space to be open in using his quickness, body control and ability to change direction. He runs well, has good body control and very good hands. He also showed good return skills on kickoffs averaging 15 yards on a couple returns, plus was one of the Wolverines to defenders from his defensive back position.
