After covering my picks for the Kentucky All-State teams ranging from 1A-5A, we are finally at the 6A division. Many people call these big schools the "top dogs" of the bluegrass state. Some of these programs have kids who get nationally recognized for their talent. With that being said, this list will be difficult to make as there are plenty of top-tier players for each position in the 6A class. Although many of the players I mentioned may already have committed to D1 schools, they are still playing their years of high school ball and should still be recognized for their pure dominance. Today, I will be listing my picks for the 2022 Kentucky All-State 6A team. Like the previous articles, I will be using the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) database to cover player individual statistics (Offensive linemen's statistics are not included in the database). *Note: some of these players are not on the KHSAA database but were still chosen by me to add them to the ranking solely for their talent*.

QB: [player_tooltip player_id='145760' first='Pryor' last='Lamb'] | 6-1, 190lbs. Class of 2023 | McCracken County High School, KY | Tape:

Prep Redzone Kentucky Ranking: #2 position. #41 overall.

KHSAA QB Ranking: #4

2021 Football Season Stats: 52.3% completions for 2,131 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, 6 rushing touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in 11 games played.

Pryor has one of the strongest throwing arms in the state, and can easily sling 30-40 yard receptions away from his body on the run. The senior is currently ranked 2nd in QBs in our PrepRedzone Kentucky rankings. What is special about Pryor is his ability to make plays even when the odds for a positive gain of yards are extremely slim. Pryor can escape the pocket after quickly recognizing an incoming blitz and making a big play. His 6 rushing touchdowns account for this, but also his footwork and skills mimic that of a starting running back so that helps a lot when he is on the run. Pryor can also run across the line of scrimmage to give himself enough time to find an open man down the field to throw the ball to. With football being a quick and fast-paced sport, Pryor's patience and coordination on the field are rare in most quarterbacks. I believe that mindset is what stands apart from great quarterbacks to elite quarterbacks, and Pryor is an elite quarterback.

RB: [player_tooltip player_id='381931' first='Brady' last='Hensley'] | 6-0, 196lbs. Class of 2024 | Madison Central High School, KY | Tape:

KHSAA RB Ranking: #2

2021 Football Season Stats: 225 rushing attempts for 1,804 rushing yards & 31 rushing touchdowns in 13 games played.

Past Analysis: Brady is another player with some spotlight but should be receiving a lot more with his stellar talent. The sophomore posted an incredible 2021 season, being named an all-state running back, rushing for 1800 yards, and running for 34 rushing touchdowns. What is mind-blowing about Brady is that he is a bully when he has the football. With the strength of a lineman and the quickness of a receiver, [player_tooltip player_id='381931' first='Brady' last='Hensley'] is a difficult force to stop. His sharp jabs past the defenders allow him to get onto the open field and nobody is going to catch up to him. Expect Brady to see more praise from recruiters shortly as this kid is the real deal.

WR: [player_tooltip player_id='403366' first='Jakob' last='Dixon'] | 6-5, 207lbs. Class of 2023 | Pleasure Ridge Park High School, KY | Tape:

Prep Redzone Kentucky Ranking: #2 position. #22nd overall.

KHSAA WR Ranking: #13th

2021 Football Season Stats: 33 receptions for 663 receiving yards & 9 receiving touchdowns in 11 games played.

It is pretty easy to understand why [player_tooltip player_id='403366' first='Jakob' last='Dixon'] is ranked #2 in our state rankings for the wide receiver position. The young man is built like a younger Calvin Johnson, who possesses a superb leaping ability when catching balls over his head. What is astonishing about Jakob is his strength when not receiving the ball. There are clips of him bringing down opposing DBs when making a block, which is something I never see out of a wide receiver. The young man also has excellent route-running skills, and his quick footwork helps him make impressive jukes on opposing DBs to create open space. Not to mention, Jakob ran a 4.50 on his 40yd dash which goes to show his stellar speed on the field.

OL: [player_tooltip player_id='386122' first='Malachi' last='Wood'] | 6-8, 280lbs. Class of 2023 | Madison Central High School, KY | Tape:

Prep Redzone Kentucky Ranking: #1 position. #12 overall.

*KHSAA Ranking N/A*

*2021 Football Season Stats N/A*

Malachi stands as the top offensive linemen prospect in the state of Kentucky, and there is not much competition for him. The senior is the most explosive lineman on the line every snap, as his "NFL size" physique and strength allow him to block off just about every opposing tackle he goes up against. For Malachi, he makes the game look easy for him due to his pure dominance. I believe his teammate, [player_tooltip player_id='381931' first='Brady' last='Hensley'], can vouch for him as he helps him become nearly just as successful in creating so many running gaps. Malachi is currently 100% committed to the University of Kentucky, and I believe he will shine as a lineman for them and their SEC play.

DB: [player_tooltip player_id='408040' first='JT' last='Haskins'] Jr | 6-1, 155lbs. Class of 2024 | Bryan Station High School, KY | Tape:

Prep Redzone Kentucky Ranking: #2 position. #6 overall.

KHSAA Interception Ranking: #3

2021 Defensive Season Stats: 6 interceptions returned for 140 total yards in 12 games played.

One of the most talented free safety's in the state, [player_tooltip player_id='408040' first='JT' last='Haskins'] has some of the best zone reads I have ever seen. JT can quickly react to a quarterback's body language on where he thinks they will throw the ball and will run across the whole field to come up with the interception. His speed and reflexes help him get down the field to make the play. He also catches his interceptions as if HE is the receiver, with the way his catching mechanics mirroring that of a top receiver. His overall athleticism, position technique, and talent make him the top DB to make this list in the 6A division. It is safe to say he will be playing D1 football in the near future as he has already received multiple D1 offers including my current school, the University of Louisville!

DL: [player_tooltip player_id='145016' first='Micah' last='Carter'] | 6-5, 235lbs. Class of 2023 | St. Xavier High School, KY | Tape:

Prep Redzone Kentucky Ranking: #1 Position. #1 Overall.

*2021 Defensive Season Stats N/A*

It is pretty safe to say that Micah will take the Defensive line spot on the Class 6A all-state team. The defensive end is currently ranked as the #1 recruit in the state of Kentucky, currently fully committed to Purdue University.

Past Analysis: Micah has incredibly fast reflexes that allow him to get past his opposing guard quickly. This threat puts pressure on opposing quarterbacks to make quick decisions which also enables Micah to quickly detect where the quarterback is going to go with the ball. Along with that, Micah can accelerate quickly after getting past the OL to put pressure on the ball-handler. Being able to tread quickly and with 235 pounds of force produces a great threat to any offensive line in the game.
