As the anticipation builds toward the start of the 2022 season, we can clearly point to many of the names and faces adding to potential excitement.

Along the Grand Strand and over to the Pee Dee, start with this list.

We analyzed hundreds of players from the zone - looking at 2021 performances, offseason camp and 7-on-7 performances and each player's situation - and came up with the Prep Red Zone Preseason All-Pee Dee and Grand Strand squad.

We start with our best of the best on offense.

Jahleel Lewis, K, Hartsville

Lewis only had four field goal attempts last year (making three of them). However, along with his PATs he ended up scoring 62 total points for the Red Foxes last year. Want to bet that total increases this fall?

[player_tooltip player_id='139295' first='Josiah' last='Thompson'], OL, Dillon

As the big tackle continues to get more comfortable with his size, we're seeing the makings of a sure-fire Power 5 lineman. But not before Thompson (pictured) roughs up fellow high school kids for a couple more years.

Jamari Brooks, OL, North Myrtle Beach

The 5-foot-10, 260-pound guard is going to have his hands full this season, as most of the other starters from last year's team graduated. However, individually, he'll hold his own.

[player_tooltip player_id='208333' first='Slayton' last='Stokes'], OL, Hartsville

Among the biggest centers in the entire state, Stokes' skill set is pushed to the next level thanks to not only his ability to get the ball off cleanly almost every time, but his transition to his blocking schemes.

[player_tooltip player_id='340390' first='James' last='Brockington'], OL, Kingstree

The two-way trench man will be an absolute load for what is expected to be one of the better Class 2A programs in the state. Simply, there aren't many at this level built like this guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='146376' first='Wade' last='White'], OL, Myrtle Beach

Like Thompson, White bookends the line from his spot at tackle and has shown for the better part of three years that he can handle just about anything that is thrown at him. He's crucial for a rebuilding Seahawk offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='336114' first='Zandae' last='Butler'], WR, Wilson

The best receiver in a stacked positional group at Wilson, Butler hauled in 40 passes for 662 yards and six touchdowns last season. He has then gone off this offseason during the camp circuit.

[player_tooltip player_id='336119' first='Jake' last='Doty'], WR, Myrtle Beach

Doty's ability to stretch the field, cut the seam or take a quick out and get north-south in a hurry make him a dangerous weapon for an offense that always seems to get a ton out of these types of receivers.

[player_tooltip player_id='202738' first='J'Shawn' last='Anderson'], RB, Hartsville

We're not sure what's a bigger sticking point for Anderson heading into 2022 - that he rushed for 1,152 yards and 15 scores last year, or that he didn't play a complete season.

[player_tooltip player_id='208339' first='Carmello' last='McDaniel'], RB, Hartsville

McDaniel, a year younger than his backfield mate, rushed for an average of 9.65 yards per carry (1,400 yards) and 22 touchdowns. The combination is potent, but McDaniel is on his own, too.

[player_tooltip player_id='146356' first='LaNorris' last='Sellers'], QB, South Florence

Sellers bounced back from an injury that cost him half of his junior season and has already proved that he's stronger - and has a stronger arm - than the version of him we saw in 2021.

As the anticipation builds toward the start of the 2022 season, we can clearly point to many of the names and faces adding to potential excitement.
