After 1 week of high school football, plenty of the top prospects at the QB position have not even played yet, but the few that have, and that have set themselves apart, are already looking to have a great season if they can continue to progress, and develop in a progressive way. Below, we have listed the top 5 stat leaders so far this season, and we encourage anyone who is reading this to refer back to this list to compare, and contrast the leaders that are added, or subtracted from this list as the season continues.

– Schley County
By only a 3 yard margin, Kanazawa is currently leading the entire state in passing, especially after a strong showing in his team’s week one game. In this game, Kanazawa also threw for 2 TD’s, and had a total of 17 completions out of his 24 attempts. This is not only a great start to the season, but it puts him in place to add on to his total yardage, allowing him to compete with some of the better QB’s in the state once they get rolling. Last season, Kanazawa also had a solid year, as he had a total of 2,478 passing yards, and 27 passing TD’s. Look for this to be a good season for Kanazawa if he can continue to play the way he already has.

, who has already thrown for a total of 263 yards. With this gaudy amount of yards was the fact that Clavon also threw for 3 TD’s, and completed 14 of his 24 passes. While his completion percentage was not that high, there is plenty of promise for what is to come in the future. Last season, Clavon did not play much, but still accounted for 93 yards and a TD. With his new found role this year, fans can expect to see him in full effect, whether it is in tough games, or seemingly easy matchups.
West Roberts- North Forsyth
West Roberts, who did not play much last year, only accounted for a little over 300 yards, and 2 TD’s. Because of his role on the team this year, this is already beginning to change. During week one of the season, he did his job, and already put up 196 passing yards, and a TD. Roberts also displayed that while he is able to facilitate his offense effectively, he still has plenty to work on, especially when it comes to ball security. During week one of the season, he threw for 2 interceptions, and will hope to improve in this area moving into the future.
Noah Story- Thomson
While Story may be coming in at 4th place in passing this season with 89 yards, we are unsure if he will be able to keep up with his competition as the season progresses. During his first game, even though he completed 6 of his 12 passes, we would like to see more from him when it comes to potential TD’s, or more advanced passes. As the season goes on, we are sure that we will get to see this, especially due to the indicators of talent, and ability that he put on film last season. Last year alone, Story put up 556 passing yards, and 5 TD’s in his limited amount of playing time.
Gavin Hall

– Toombs County
Just like Story, Hall has also only played for 89 passing yards, and is tied for 4th in the state in passing yards. The biggest difference between Story and Hall though is the fact that Hall put up 2 TD’s last week, while completing 6 of his 11 passes. This will undoubtedly have to improve as the season goes by, but we believe that if he is able to do so, due to the efficiency he has already displayed, that he and his team may be in for a potentially good season.
